We will try to get one more team event in on Tuesday @ 5:45p @ CLL Main Field, maybe a scrimmage against the coaches & parents. Also, we'll discuss interest in winter practices in the Field house.

I want to thank all the players & parents for participating this year. We had a great turnout and really improved our skill level.

Thanks to all the coaches/umpires & helpers: Lisa Fix, Tim Chapman, Danny McGee, Michael Cutlip, Charles Gibson, and Junior Naylor. Without their dedication & time commitment we could not have been as successful.

I hope every girl was challenged and had fun. We'll look forward to seeing you at winter practices, so we can get a jump on the 2010 spring season!

Team #1 will play at Elkview on Monday @ 5:30pm.

Both Team 1 & 2 will play on Saturday Oct. 3rd. @ Clendenin against North Putunam. Starting at 12pm.

Here are the 2 team lists.

Team #1: Haylie B, Olivia M, Debbie, Alora, MacKenzie, Micah, Sierra, Silken, Audrey, Calissa, Brandi, Chasity, Shelby G.

Team #2: Kendyl, Kristen, Destini, Dellani, Holli, Kelsie, Alivia Mcgee, Hailey C, Sofie, Sara, Shelbi T, Zoey, Mallori. 

 These teams will not be "set in stone". We want to be flexible enough to accommodate absences, illness, age, ability, etc. Also, the availability of pitchers & catchers may affect the lineups.

Keep in mind, our goal will be to expose & instruct our girls to play competitive fastpitch. We have some that have never hit against a pitcher in a game, and most of the others have only played a couple of seasons. They all need more repetition.

There has been tremendous interest in our fall softball program. Over 20 girls have attended practice. They range from 11 to 7 years of age. And, we are looking for a few more to sign-up. Some will be moving-up to Little League, while many will be getting their first look at Minor league fastpitch.

We plan to organize practice in a "camp style" setting. That is to say, the girls will be split into groups according to age & ability, with all of them attending the same practice. Many leagues use this method and it helps to improve the over all skill level. Specialized skills, such as pitching & catching, may be separate practices, either on a different day or before & after team practices.

Keep in mind, the fall program is intended to be an instructional league. Our focus will be fundamental mechanics & basic knowledge. While we are working to schedule games with other leagues, our numbers will allow us to compete against ourselves.

With the overall goal of improving each girls softball skill & knowledge, we hope they we will enjoy a fulfilling career.
