Clear Creek Wildcats: Baseball News
Thursday, November 13Ramping up for the 2009 Season
Ballplayers are spending their days running and pumping iron...running and pumping iron...you get the idea. Each player is supposed to get in 1,000 swings a week, in order to improve offensive hitting skills. They are also starting to work in fielding drills and bunt coverages. Everyone is working hard, and eager for the season to start. It can't get here soon enough!
Parents are busy with Booster Club fundraising efforts, starting with the popular Laptop Raffle. Please see the Booster Club News section for more details on the Raffle. Also, the Golf Tournament is on February 15th - just around the corner. Packages are being put together for that, please contact Jim Solliday to get started as soon as possible.
A new Iron Mike has been delivered and is awaiting installion at the batting cages. We are hoping that a container will be donated from the Houston Port Authority to house the Iron Mike and other field equipment. It would be ideal to get the Iron Mike installed before or during the Thanksgiving break.
The Booster Club is looking for an enterprising parent to chair the Banquet Committee. Please see Carolyn Waidhofer for details. The next Booster Club meeting will be December 10th at 7PM in the Ninth Grade Center library.
