The IFL 08' season has started and the Buccs are off to a slow start with a 27-6 win over the P.G.Knights T. Walters had 2 Tds catches, while B.Jackson had 1 and L. Pointer ran for one. But the play of the day went to our kicker D. Whaley for a Buccs first ever made feild goal... Good job!!!
Week 2. Buccs Follow up with a nail bitting win over the Thunder 14 - 8 B. Jackson had 1 Td catch for 35yrds. and L. Pointer ran 1 in for a Td.
Week 3. Buccs get a much needed win over Rip Tides 34 - 0. With a all around good game from everyone. Right out the game E. Marc set the tone as he ran for over a 100 yrds. in the first half. We Also got 254yrds passing & three TDs by J. Lowrie
Week 4. Buccs get pass the Blaze 22 - 6 with a out standing performance by I. Allen. Allen had two great catches for a pair of TDs. and L. Browne chipped in with one TD also to finish the game. The Defense was outstanding all day holding a good Blaze offense to only 6 points.
Week 5. This was a good battle between last years championship finalist. But in the end Buccs win 19 - 6 with the running attack of E Dorsey, L. Pointer and L. Carn. These guys kept the ball moving all game good job.
Week 6. By far the best up & down game the Buccs has ever played. Buccs vs Colts turned out to be everything we thought it would be and more. This game had everything and it went right down to the wire. With seconds lefted on the clock T. Walters catches the game winning touchdown to win the game, it was a hell of a game with a story book finish. Buccs win 19 - 13
WEEK 7. Buccs come out the gate running and never looked back with a 35 - 0 win over the Outlaws. The ground attack was lead by R. Edwards, L. Pointer & E. Dorsey all three scored TDs. Receivers wise, B. Jackson had 140yrds & 1 touchdown also C. Wright had a TD to help out. Deffense pitch a shut out while also scoring a td on a int. by A. Ross. Good job Team!!!
Week 8. Buccs beat Knights 38 - 8 behind the arm of "QB", J. Lowrie. He threw for 319yrds on 17 for 25 completions. A 65 yrd bomb was caught by C. Wright for a td and then T. Walters got in on the action with his own two td catches to put him over the 100yrd mark for the game. There was also a suprise td catch by J. Saitta in the back of the end zone on a busted play...wow. Then B. Jackson took the ball away on a int. and ran it back for a 40yrd td. Rob E. had a int. for 85yrds and a td. The second half belonged to E. Dorsey and L Pointer they both lead with some hard running for a td and a two pointer, good job guys.
Week 9. With the regular season coming to a end, the Buccs second run-in with the Thunder proves to be all they said it would in then some. The ground attack was lead by E. Dorsey with some real tough yards against that front seven of the Thunder. But the story of the day was the Bucc air game in which T. Walters did just what he sat out to do "move the chains". His performance was one to remember with one catch after another for 214yrds. for the day. While Walters drew the attention of double coverage B. Jackson & C. Wright went to work. By the second half, both players had decided to take up the slack with a pair of tds to seal the game. The Defense was lead by J. Saitta who had two very important ints. for the game. Buccs 26 - Thunder 23
Week 10. This was the game to seal the 10-0 season for the Buccs. With a lot of the Buccs being banged up and not playing the coach and his staff decided to help out by suiting up and playing just to fell in the gaps. What a game J. Saitta threw a 48yrd bomb to B.Jackson to kick-off the game and then C. Wright took over with three td catches and 189yds for the day he was just on fire. The ground game was held down by L. Pointer with two tds for the day along with a QB boot for a score by J. Saitta. On Defense the old school coaches proved that they can still get it done if needed with only giving up six pionts for the day, "good job old heads"!!! Buccs 50 - 6 Rip Tides
Week 11 Bye wk. Buccs IFL Southern Divison Champs
Week 12. This was a tough win for the Buccs as they beat the Knights 26 - 20. The Knights were up 14-0 in the second qtr. before C. Wright caught a 42 yrd bullet pass from J. Lowrie for a touchdown to lead the Bucss into the halft. Then the run game was blown open by the swift moves and hard running of E. Marc. There seem to be no answer for him as he kept the chains moving play after play. It was clear that the Knights were locused on trying to stop receiver standout T. Walters doubling him on every down almost, and over looking his running mate on the other side of the feild B. Jackson who torched them for a 62yrd. dashing run for a td. then he recoverd a fumble in the enzone for another touch down. With the pressure on to win the game Qb J. Lowrie does the unthinkable and decides to throw the ball to the rookie receiver J. Walker who brings a 30 yrd bomb down in the enzone for the go ahead winning touchdown of the day.
Week 13.
Conferance Championship Game Buccs 35 vs Thunder 12
This was a hard hitting, head banging, high flying football game between the two best teams in the south. This by far one of "thee best", passing games of J. Lowrie Semi Pro career. Passing for 324yrds. and four TDs it was clear he was in the zone and on fire. oN The ground E. Marc held it down in the first half with 78yrds rushing while E. Dorsey took over the second half with 65yrds. of his own. But the top performance of the game has to go to T. Walters with three TDs on 202yrds. for the game. With his mind made up to get the job done no nmatter what before the game, he put the team on his back and put on a clinic like no other seen this season for all to see one play after another. Also I.Allen had one TD and one 2pt.convt. On defense J. Saitta had a pick for a 70yrd.TD and the rest of the defense shut down everything that was ran at them. Great job guys!!!
Week 14.
2008' ILF CHAMPIONSHIP GAME !!!
BUCCANEERS 0 VS CHIEFS 13
This game was a heart breaker for the Buccs who went 12-0 only to lose in the big dance. Its painful for all of us who fault hard all year only to come up short. But now we know first hand that you can't take anyone for granted no matter what. You guys have the whole off-season to think about last year and what you've lost and how bad you want it back. Because it's hard climbing that moutain but it's even harder to stay on it when eveyone is gunning for you. Take care and I'll see most of you next year.
