Chiefs Take 2 of 3 in Season Opener over Lake Orion (Green)
The Clarkston Chiefs Blue and Varsity traveled to Lake Orion to open the 2007 season in solid fashion.
The Freshman Blue turned some heads when they stopped the Lake Orion Green Freshman scoreless in a 19-0 victory.
The Junior Varsity Blue and Lake Orion Green JV beat up on each other to a regulation 6 to 6 tie. The Clarkston offense could only reach the two yard line during their possession in overtime. Lake Orion then scored on a broken play to have the quarterback scamper into the side of the endzone for a 12 - 6 victory.
The Varsity ended the day by introducing an air attack to the Lake Orion Dragons that created a 37 - 14 victory.
Next week the Clarkston Blue and Varsity host the Pontiac Panthers at Clarkston High School at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.
Sunday, September 9
White Dubble Dip Dragons with Two Wins
Both Freshman and Junior Varsity Squads began the season in high fashion with wins over the Lake Orion Dragons White Saturday afternoon.
The Freshman started the day in grand fashion holding the young Dragons scoreless in a 25 - 0 victory. It may have seemed that the crowd was seeing time repeat itself as the Junior Varsity White also slayed the JV Dragons with an identical 25 - 0 score.
Next week, September 15th, will be the home opener for the White Squads as they take on the Brandon Jr. Blackhawks. Freshman kick off at 5PM with the Junior Varsity following up at 7PM.
Sunday, September 9
Pontiac Claws Three Victories from Blue and Varsity
Saturday's home opener for the Varsity and the Blue Squads did not go as planned. Both the Freshman (1-1) and Junior Varsity (0-2) went home disappointed with 25 - 0 losses to the tough Pontiac Panthers.
The Varsity (1-1) game had a lot of drama as a touchdown with under 2 minutes to play closed the gap to 20-14. The Chiefs recovered the onside kick and was able to drive inside the 30 yard line only to be stopped on downs.
Next week the Blue Squads and Varsity travel to Waterford to play under the lights. The Blue will play Waterford Blue at 3PM and 5PM respectively at Pierce Middle School. The Varsity game will end the day with kickoff at 7PM.
Sunday, September 16
We Were Good, Until the End
The Clarkston Chiefs enjoyed a successful Saturday winning 4 of 5 contents.
The Freshman Blue (2-1) opened the day at Pierce Middle school scoring early and holding the lead as they beat the Waterford Corsairs Blue (0-3) 26 - 0.
The Freshman White opened the White Squad home opener with a battle of cross town rival the Brandon Jr. Blackhawks. The Freshman White (2-0) controlled the ground with a 25-0 over the Freshman Blackhawks (1-1).
The Junior Varsity Blue (1-2) finally put a mark in the win column as they found there ground game with two second half scores to put Waterford Blue (0-3) away 14-0.
The Junior Varsity White (2-0) were not good hosts as they controlled the game from the beginning and beat the JV Blackhawks (1-1) 26-6 to take control of first place.
The Varsity vs Waterford game was a disappointment as Waterford(3-0) showed that they were an improved team shutting out the Varsity (1-2) 20-0.
Next Week the Blue Squads and Varsity will have to convoy to Dryden High School as they will take on the Lapeer Steelers at Noon, 2PM and 4PM. The White Squads will defend the home turf at night with games at 5PM & 7PM against the Birmingham Patriot Blue.
Sunday, September 23
Almost a Perfect Day
With the weather in the 70's and not a cloud in the sky, the Blue Squad brought the Varsity along for three games against the Lapeer Steelers.
The Freshman started the day which could of been an exciting finish as a 50 yard run with less than 3 minutes remaining cut a Lapeer Steeler(3-1) lead to 12-13. But, that is how the game would finish as the Chiefs(2-2) were not able to convert the conversion as the run came 1 yard short.
The Junior Varsity Blue tryed to top the excitement of the Freshman game as they took the Lapeer JV down to the wire. With less than two minutes remaining, a 35 yard half back pass was completed and ran to the 3 yard line. One play later, the Chiefs(2-2) hit paydirt as they took the lead and eventually won 19-12 over a tough Lapeer Steeler(2-2) team.
The Varsity(2-2) game was ho-hum compared to the first two as they controlled the Lapeer Steelers(1-1) offense in a 19-0 win.
The Freshman White took another step closer to the playoffs as they took on the Birmingham Patriots Blue. The Chiefs started the day with a methodical drive that ended with touchdown run and a beautiful catch to make the 2 point coversion. But, the Patriots(2-2) answered right back on there third offensive play with a 50+ yard run to break the Chiefs 2-game scoreless streak. But, it was the Chiefs(3-0) that took control of the game offensively and defensively to win 35-8.
The Junior Varsity White took on the Birmingham Patriots and controlled the game from the beginning in a game that included a safety and a touchdown run (called back, but it was still exciting). In the end, the Chiefs(3-0) beat the Patriots (1-3) 29-0.
Next week is the 3rd Annual Blue & White Classic. Freshman will kick off at 3pm and Junior Varsity will kick off at 5pm. The Finale will have the Varsity hosting the Birmingham Patriots at 7pm. See you at Clarkston Stadium.
Sunday, September 30
Classic Games, Classic Disappointment
The 3rd Annual Blue White Classic could not have been better with a packed house at Clarkston Stadium.
The Freshman played it tough as the White (3-1) started the day with an opening drive touchdown. But, the Blue (3-2) would prevail as they answered with two touchdowns before the half ended. A late touchdown would put the game away as the Blue wins this year 19-6.
Next week the Clarkston Stadium gets a rest as both teams go on the road. The White will play a cross over game against the Lake Orion Dragons at Lake Orion High School. Kickoff will be at Noon. The Blue gets back to business as they try to move toward a playoff spot and will try to knock off the Birminham Patriots White at 3PM at Wylie E. Groves High School.
The Junior Varsity game was a hard hitting contest. It was a close 8-0 contest for most of the game. But, a late score by the White (4-0) put the game away as they beat the Blue (2-3) 14-0.
Next week the White Squad will play a cross over game against the Lake Orion Green at 2PM. The Blue will be in Birmingham to take on the Patriots at 5PM.
The Varsity typical tough defense was amazed as they gave up 3 straight touchdown runs to let Birmingham (2-2) have a 22-0 lead. But, the fight was not lost as the Chiefs were able to close the gap to 22-14 right before halftime. But, that is how the score would end as the Varsity(2-3) kept knocking on the door, but no one would answer. Next week the Varsity will take a well needed rest as they have a bye week.
Sunday, October 7
Double Overtime Win Completes 4 Game Sweep
The Clarkston Freshman White(4-1) started the day with a cross over game in Lake Orion. It would be the Chiefs who would strike first and hold a 6-0 lead at halftime over the Lake Orion Green(3-3). The Freshman White would score again in the second half and give up a late forth quarter score to complete the 12-6 win. Next week, the Auburn Hills Makos Blue come to town for a 5PM kickoff at CHS.
The Clarkston Junior Varsity White (5-0) continues to roll on as they are able to control the tough Lake Orion Green (4-2) for a 22-8 win. Next week, the JV White will host the Auburn Hills Makos Blue. Kickoff is at 7PM at CHS.
The Freshman Blue(4-2) traveled to Birmingham to take the Freshman Patriots White(3-3) team that is fighting for a playoff position, like our Freshman Blue. But, it was the Freshman Blue who prevailed as they scored 21 unanswered points in the first half to win 21-0. Next week the Freshman Blue will enjoy the bye week.
The game of the day put our Junior Varsity Blue (3-3) against the tough undefeated Birmingham Patriots White (5-1). Regulation ended with a 20-20 tie. But, in the end it took two overtimes for the players from Clarkston to come away with a 26-20 victory. Next week, the JV Blue will take the week off.
The Varsity had the week off as they enjoyed the bye. They will head this week to Groves stadium as they try to revenge a 22-14 loss to Birmingham in there last meeting. Kickoff will be at 6PM.
Saturday, October 13
!!!JV WHITE NATIONAL DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!!
The Clarkston Chiefs played three games under the lights. Two games with the White Squad playing at Clarkston High School and the Varsity traveling to Groves High School to take on the Birmingham Patriots.
The Freshman White went into the game knowing that they had clinched a playoff birth. But, that did not stop them wanting to hold on to the #1 seed in the National Division.
The Auburn Hills Makos Blue had upset on there minds at they opened the first quarter with three impressive touchdowns to take a 18-0 lead in the first quarter. But the young Chiefs did not lose there heads as they came charging back with three touchdowns of their own in the 2nd quarter to take a 20-18 lead before the half. Eventually, the Clarkston Freshman White would win the game 33-18.
Next week the Undefeated Waterford Corsair Green will come to town to take on the Clarkston Chiefs Freshman White. The winner will be Freshman National Division Champions and will earn the #1 Seed. Kickoff is at 11am on Clarkston Junior High School.
At about halftime of the Freshman White game, the Varsity game started. The Varsity was looking for some revenge as the bitter taste of a 22-14 loss remained from two weeks ago. Revenge was sweet as the Clarkston Varsity enjoyed the ride home with a 20-0 victory over the Birmingham Patriots to put them back into playoff contention. Next week the Varsity will take on the Auburn Hills Makos at Clarkston Junior High. Kickoff is at 7PM.
The highlight of the day was the victory of the JV White over the Auburn Hills JV Blue. The game started with both teams trading touchdowns and 2 point conversions for a 8-8 tie. The game was still close at halftime with the JV White leading 24-14 at the half. But, it was the Chiefs that held on for at 31-14 victory. But more important, the victory clinched the first every division title for the Junior Varsity White and #1 seed in the division.
Next week, the JV White will try to secure a perfect regular season when they take on the Waterford Corsair Green at Clarkston Junior High. Kickoff is at 1PM.
Tuesday, October 16
Cheer and Pom, Champions at the Palace
If you do not know it, the Clarkston Chiefs are not all about Football. The Chiefs have a long history of fielding quality cheerleaders and entertaining pom pon squads.
This year is no different as the Clarkston Chiefs sent five teams to compete at the annual Palace Youth Cheerleading competition in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
When all the dust cleared it was the Chiefs walking away with awards as the Varsity Pom Pon and Junior Varsity Blue Cheerleading Squads finished first in there divisions. Additionally, the Clarkston Chiefs finished with 2 second place awards and 1 third.
The NYFL was well represented as our league partners the Brandon Jr. Blackhawks did a fine job with a 1st at the Freshman level and a 2nd at the Junior Varsity and Pom Pon levels. We want to congratulate them also.
With quality cheerleading and pom poms, the Mega Cheer is going to be an exciting event. Please join us at Lake Orion High School on November 4th for the 3rd Annual NYFL Mega Cheer. Football players with jerseys are entered at no charge.

5 for 5: All Teams in Playoffs!
!!!FRESHMAN WHITE NATIONAL DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!!
!!!Junior Varsity Blue & Varsity in Playoffs!!!
Saturday was a waiting game as playoff hopes were still alive, for the Varisty, and playoff seedings were to be determined the following day. But, now it is official. All Chiefs teams are in the Playoffs.
Saturday was a special day in Clarkston Chiefs history as the Chiefs were the host for 5 games. Additionally, they had to move the home venue to Clarkston Jr. High School because of a state band competition at Clarkston High School.
The game with the most focus was the Freshman White vs the Waterford Blue. Both teams came into the game with undefeated division records. The difference in the game was a first series touchdown for the Clarkston White. The rest of the game was a defensive battle at the White won the National Division Championship with a 6-0 victory. It would not be a surprise if this was not the last time the Freshman White will see the Waterford Green in 2007.
Next week the Freshman White will travel to Rochester Adams High School as the #1 Seed and take on the #4 Seek Auburn Hills Makos Blue. The Freshman beat the Auburn Hills Blue 33-18 two weeks ago. Time to be determined at October 22nd playoff meeting.
The Clarkston White JV continued there workmanlike season as they finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record and the #1 seed in the National Division. The Waterford Green came to town to see if they could be that team to ruin the perfect season. But, it was clear on this day the Chiefs were the better team with a 30-12 victory.
Next week the Junior Varsity White will travel to Rochester Adams High School as the #1 Seed in the National Division. They will play th #4 Seed Auburn Hills Makos Blue. The JV White defeated the Makos 31-14 in a game at Clarkston two weeks ago.
In one of the best examples on how the much-discussed 30-point rule should be used, the Freshman Clarkston Blue and the Auburn Hills Makos Silver enjoy one of the most entertaining games. Both teams scored often, but it was the Clarkston Blue that came away with a 53-28 victory.
Next week the Freshman Blue will travel to Lake Orion High School as the #3 Seed in the American Division. They will play the #2 Seed Lapeer Steelers who broke their heart early in the season with a 12-13 defeat at Dryden High School.
With a victory by the Lake Orion Green over the Lapeer Steelers right before the JV Blue game, the Clarkston Chiefs Blue were thrown into the playoffs. It definately did not affect them as they took care of business with a victory over the Auburn Hills Makos Silver 28-16.
Next week the Junior Varsity Blue will travel to Lake Orion High School as the #3 Seed in the American Division. They will play the #2 Seed Lake Orion Dragons Green. The JV Blue lost in game one to the Lake Orion Green in a hard hitting overtime game 12-6.
The Varsity had playoffs on there mind Saturday, but they needed to make sure they took care of business. And, that is what they did by controlling the very fast Auburn Hills Makos for a 37-14 victory. Next week Sunday, the Chiefs will travel to Dryden High School for Varsity Day and take on the Varsity Division Champion Waterford Corsairs. The Chiefs will be trying to revenge a 20-0 defeat earlier in the season and remove the undefeated tag from the Corsairs.
In two weeks the Varsity will take on the #1 Waterford Corsairs or #2 Pontiac Panthers. Lapeer is now the #4 Seed. Next week, with a Chiefs Win or a Lapeer loss, the Chiefs will hold the #3 Seed and play the Pontiac Panthers at Varsity field in Brandon. With a Lapeer win and a Chiefs loss, the Chiefs will play the Waterford Cosairs at Seaholm High School as the #4 Seed.
Sunday, October 28
WHITE SQUADS, FRESHMAN BLUE MOVE ON
The Clarkston Chiefs truly enjoyed a full day of playoff football. The action started in Rochester Michigan as the playoff hosts Auburn Hills Makos Blue Squads challenged the Clarkston Chiefs White Squad.
The National Division Freshman Semi Finals were first as the #1 Seed Clarkston Chiefs White took on the #4 Auburn Hills Makos Blue. The Freshman showed why they are the #1 Seed as they controlled the Makos offense for a 25-0 victory. Next week, the Freshman White will take on the upset minded #3 Birmingham Patroits Blue at Varsity Field in Brandon. Kickoff is at Noon.
The National Divsion Junior Varsity Finals followed the Freshman White game. It was De Ja Vu as the #1 Clarkston Chiefs White took on the #4 Auburn Hills Makos Blue. The Chiefs knew they were in for a tough game as the Makos had the ability to throw and run the ball. But, it was a consistant offense and a tough defense for the Chiefs that made the difference in a 26-6 victory. Next week, the Junior Varsity White will take on those rivals from the North Brandon Jr. Blackhawks at Varsity Field in Brandon. Kickoff will be at 2PM.
The American Division Freshman Semi Finals was a battle of familiar stature as the always pesky #2 Lapeer Steelers Freshman took on the #3 Clarkston Chiefs Blue Freshman. The last two games between these teams have ended within one touchdown. This game would be no different as the Clarkston Chiefs held on for a 18-13 victory. Next week, the Freshman White will take on the Pontiac Panthers for the American Division Championship. Kickoff off is TBD at Seaholm High School.
The American Divsion Junior Varsity Semi Finals was a battle of two improving teams as the #2 Lake Orion Dragons Green took on the #3 Clarkston Chiefs Blue. The first game went into overtime, but there would be no overtime today as the high powered Dragon offense could not be stopped as they defeated our Clarkston Chiefs 40-18. The Clarkson Chiefs JV Blue had a wonderful season as they played the toughest schedule in the American JV Division. They will finish the season with a 4-4 record. All the defeats came to teams that will be playing in Division Finals, including Pontiac, Lake Orion Green (twice) and Clarkston Chiefs White. Great Season young men. You will be even better next year.
Sunday, October 28
Corsairs Sweep Chiefs, Varsity going to Brandon
The best part of the day was that the Chiefs Varsity (4-4) was able to travel to Dryden High School for Varsity Day. The worst part was that the Chiefs would have to take on the high powered Waterford Corsairs (8-0). There is a reason the Corsairs are the #1 Seed. It is there offense, which did not let them down with a 47-25 victory over our #3 Seed playoff bound Chiefs Varsity. The Corsairs beat the Varsity earlier in the year 22-0.
Next week, the Varsity will being its playoff run as they will play the #2 Pontiac Panthers. The Varsity lost a close game to the Panthers 21-14 earlier in the season. The Varsity will join the White Squad's at Varsity Field in Brandon. Kickoff is 4PM.
Monday, November 5
WHITE HAS SUPER DAY
Saturday began with the Clarkston Chiefs participating in four playoff matches. On the line for all were invitations to NYFL Super Bowl III.
The #3 Freshman Blue would kick off the American Division Championship with a matchup against the #1 Pontiac Panthers. The Chiefs seemed to be ready to commit two up sets in two weeks, but the Panthers would have nothing to do with it as they moved on with a 31-0 Victory. The Freshman Blue enjoyed a great season as they qualified for the playoffs and enjoyed some surprising wins. Great Season Freshman Blue.
The #1 Freshman White would kick off the National Division Championship with a matchup against the #3 Birmingham Patriots Blue. The Chiefs were fortunate to win earlier in the season against the Patriots and found some of the same magic in a 30-12 victory. The Freshman White will take on the Pontiac Pathers in NYFL Super Bowl III at Pierce Middle School. The Panthers defeated the Clarkston Blue to advance. Kickoff will be at Noon.
The #1 Junior Varsity White was the second matchup at Varsity Field in Brandon for the National Division Championship against the home #2 Brandon Jr. Blackhawks. The game was hard hitting and spirited as the Chiefs were able to advance to NYFL Super Bowl III with a 20-6 win. The JV Chiefs will take on the Lake Orion Green Dragons in 2nd match at NYFL Super Bowl III at 2:30PM. The Lake Orion Green Dragons defeated the Pontiac Panthers to advance.
The #3 Varsity hoped that history would repeat themselves as they may be able to pull off the 3 game sweep as in Birmingham the previous year. But, the #2 Pontiac Panthers knew they had a Back to Back NYFL Super Bowl Championship to defend. It was the Panthers who took care of business with a 32-7 victory. The Varsity had a great season participating in the playoffs for the third consecutive year. Great Season Varsity.

This game sure seemed like a blowout before it even started as the Pontiac Panthers were averaging 26 points a game and only gave up 12 the whole 2007 regular season. But, the Freshman White would hear none of that as they had something to prove.
The Panthers took an early lead when #25 Kahlee Hamler scampered for a 48 yard touchdown at 3:22 of the first quarter. The Freshman White surprised the Panthers as they held tight and scored at 11:30 of the 2nd quarter to take the game into halftime 6-6.
The third quarter remained scoreless, but history repeated in the 4th quarter as #25 disappointed the Chiefs again with a 17 yard run at 11:50. The Freshman White Chiefs kept pounding the Panthers, but they would not give in as the game ended with a 12-6 Panther victory.

The Junior Varsity White knew they were going to have a tough game against the Lake Orion Dragons Green. But, the first half seemed to be a bad dream as the undefeated Chiefs put the football on the ground numerous times.
The Dragons high powered passing took advantage of the early turnovers and scored on pass plays in the 1st and 2nd quarter to take a 14-0 lead into halftime.
But, the pride of the Chiefs stood up as the offensive line took it upon itself to clear the running lanes as Ian Eriksen scored on runs of 9 yards in the 3rd Quarter and 22 yards with 3:44 left in the 4th quarter to tie the game up 14-14. That is how the game ended in regulation.
In overtime, the Lake Orion defense denied the Chiefs a score. The Lake Orions offense seemed to be stopped. But, on 4th down the Dragons pulled a 11 yard touchdown pass out of there pocket to disappoint the Chiefs 20-14 in one of the most exciting football games in NYFL history.
