Panthers Claw Chiefs
The Pontiac Panthers were everything but good hosts as the recorded back to back shut outs against the Clarkston Chiefs White Squad.
The Freshman White played tough defense most of the game only to be scored on three long plays. The young offense still needs to work the kinks out as they had a hard time moving against the Freshman Panthers. The final score was 0-20.
The Junior Varsity had an equally difficult time as they effectively moved the ball but could not build a consistant drive losing to the Panthers 0-19.
Next Saturday is the White Squad's home opener as they host the Lake Orion Green Dragons. Freshman kick off at Noon with JV follwing at 2PM.
Sunday, August 27

Chief's Take 4 of 5 on Sunday
It was a successful day as all squads played and the Chiefs were victorious in 4 of 5 games.
The White Squads went on the road to Pierce Middle School to take on the Waterford Blue Squad. The Freshman White's hearts were broken as they were inside the Corsairs five yard line 2 times in the first half and came out empty. It was to much to handle as they could not hold off the Freshman Blue Corsairs 0-20.
The JV White did some heart breaking themselves as they came from behind in the second half with some brutal defense to edge out the JV Blue Corsairs 7-6,
The Blue Squad were the hosts to the Auburn Hills Blue on Sunday. The Freshman to control from the beginning and ran away 50-13. The JV Blue has yet to give up a point in a 20-0 win and the Varsity continues to score with the Blue, White and Gold offenses in a 54 - 13 win.
Next Saturday Clarkston turns on the lights for the 2nd Annual Blue White Game. The Freshman kick off at 3PM, the Junior Varsity at 5PM and the Varsity will host Lapeer at 7PM.

SOOO CLOSE!!!!
The Clarkston White Squads traveled to Brandon Varsity Field to take on the Freshman Super Bowl Champions and the Junior Varsity Runner Ups in National Division Matchups. The Chief's Freshman literally took the Brandon Jr. Blackhawks (3-2,2-1) to the final minute as Brandon was able to squeeze out a 6-0 victory in the last 30 seconds. The JV Chiefs found out what it is like to take on the cross town rival to the North as they lost 14 -0 to the JV Jr. Blackhawks (3-2,2-1).
Next week the White Squad will travel to Birmingham for a twilight match-up. Kickoff will be Saturday at 4PM and 6PM.

White Sweeps Patriots, Varsity beats Auburn Hills
On Saturday Night, the White Freshman and Junior Varsity Squads played some of the most exciting football of the season. The Freshman started the day by scoring two early touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead only to hold on against a determined Birmingham squad 14-13. The win was the first of the season for the Freshman.
The Junior Varsity game had some excitement of its own as it scored 20 second half points to come from behind to win 20-13. The win puts the Junior Varsity Squad in the 4th seed in the Junior Varsity National Division. Next week Sunday, the White Squad will host the Lapeer Steelers.
With a win over Lapeer or a Brandon Victory over Waterford Blue, the JV White will qualify for the playoffs. If the JV White loses to Lapeer and Brandon loses to Waterford Blue, the JV White, Brandon and Waterford Blue would be in a tie for the 3rd and 4th playoff seeds. In this case, the two teams with the losest points scored against would qualify for the playoffs since there is no decisive head to head advantage.
The Varsity traveled for the first time to Avondale High School to take on the Auburn Hills Makos. The Chiefs controled the game from the start with a slippery 46-0 victory on a mud slick field. Next week Saturday the Chiefs will play under the lights at Lake Orion. Kickoff is 8pm.
Sunday, October 1

NYFL SUPER BOWL II X 3
Saturday, it must have looked like a sea of blue and yellow as three Clarkston Chiefs football squads took over Seaholm High School for three playoff game.
The Freshman Blue started the day with a tremendous defensive performance as they shut down the tough Waterford Corsair Blue offense. Repeatedly, the Corsairs tried to get outside only to find a tribe of Chiefs in full pursuit. By the end of the game, the Freshman Blue were able to cross the goal line 3 times for a 22-0 win and a trip to NYFL Super Bowl II. The Freshman Blue will take on the National Division Champion Lapeer Steeler who were victorious over the Pontiac Panthers.
The Junior Varsity Blue opened the day against the Lake Orion Dragons Green by scoring two quick touchdowns in the 1st quarter. The Dragons were not impressed as they came back hard with a long run of their own to make the score 13 - 6. The Junior Varsity put the game away by scoring one more time in the 2nd half to win 20-6 and earn a visit to NYFL Super Bowl II. The Junior Varsity Blue will take on the National Division Champion Pontiac Panthers who were victorious over the Lapeer Steelers.
The Varsity took on the Waterford Corsairs in the finale and will be remembered as one of the most intense games played. The Corsairs opened on the first drive by passing to an offensive tackle on a screen play and taking it home for the first score of the day. fortunately for the Chiefs, the Corsairs were not able to convert the extra point. The Chiefs answered back with a long drive at the end of the 2nd quarter to finally hit paydirt and scored on a 1 yard dive. A bullet pass into the endzone converted the extra point taking a 8-6 lead. The rest of the game was a battle of courage and wits as the game ended 8-6. With the win the Varsity has earned a trip to NYFL Super Bowl II.
Please come see all three team compete for the NYFL Championship on November 4th.
On November 5th, those who yell the loudest at our games will be competing at the 2nd Annual NYFL MEGA CHEER. Please come see our girls compete against other cheerleaders in the NYFL at Lake Orion High School at Noon.

Freshman Blue Earns Classic Championship
 | | | | NYFL 2006 FRESHMAN CHAMPIONS |
You would think with the Varsity's classic playoff win last week verse Waterford, no game could top it. You would be wrong. In the opening game of Superbowl II, the undefeated Clarkston Blue (10-0) took on the undefeated Lapeer Steelers (10-0).
In a battle between two tough defensive units, the game went back and forth with both teams standing up to hold the other team off. The most impressive of the day was when the Lapeer Steelers held the Clarkston Chiefs on three plays inside the 5 yard line as halftime ended deadlocked zero to zero.
The second half was more of the same as the echos of plastic rang thoughout Wisner Stadium as everyone was on the edge of there seats. The anxiety rose as regulation time ended in a zero to zero tie.
Overtime took over as the Chiefs went first from the 10 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage, Blake Monty broke off of right tackle to score the first overtime points. A pass from DJ Zezula to Cole Chewin made the score 8-0. Now it was Lapeers turn. They had no other option but to score. But, the Clarkston Blue Defense would have none of that as the Lapeer offense could not move forward on four plays. The Mighty Chiefs had won the NYFL 2006 Freshman Championship.
Junior Varsity Smacks 1st Loss on Pontiac to win Championship
 | | | NYFL 2006 JUNIOR VARSITY CHAMPIONS | |
When the Clarkston Chiefs Junior Varsity Blue (10-0) marched into Wisner Stadium all odds seemed to be against them. They were going up against a home town crowd and a Pontiac Panther (10-0) team that had an NYFL record 20 straight wins.
But the JV Chiefs seemed to have only one thing on there mind, a NYFL Championship. Time after time, offense after offense, the Junior Varsity Blue seemed to have the motto "Full Steam Ahead" as they stayed between the offensive tackles and banged the historically tough Pontiac defense for 261 rushing yards.
Pontiac could not figure out who to key on as Alex Dicea lead the way with 129 rushing yards and Ian Ericksen was not far behind with 108. Eventually, the Pontiac Panthers could not catch up in the end as the Clarkston Chiefs Junior Varsity Blue had won the NYFL 2006 Junior Varsity Championship 25 to 18 as time ran out.
Varsity Chiefs Finish Season 8-2
In what could only be thought of as a dream, the Varsity took the field at Wisner Stadium attempting to have a full Clarkston Championship Sweep. But, the older and quicker Pontiac Panthers (10-0) pride surfaced as they decided to protect there home field advantage with there fans and the local high school band.
The Chiefs found it hard to stand up against the well coached Pontiac team. But, the Chiefs fought hard, play after play and eventually broke through with a 11 yard Mitch Baenziger pass to CJ Gozdor to insure the undefeated Panthers would not shut them out.
Though the game ended with a 37-6 defeat, this team was truly a team. The local community better keep notice as these boys are some of the best athletes that have come through Clarkston in many years. Congratulations the the 2006 Clarkston Chiefs Varsity. They have truly shown us what heart, grit and desire really means.
