Board Meetings
The Clarkston Chiefs Board Meetings are normally held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7PM at the Carriage House in Clintonville Park located on Clarkston Road. These meetings are open to all. We welcome all to become board members and share your talents.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Clarkston Chiefs, as an association dedicated to the development of our youth sport activities of football, cheerleading and pom pon, to promote and provide, regardless of race, creed, gender or abilities, the practice of good sportsmanship, character and fair play. Our primary focus is on a competitive spirit to succeed with fun for all participants, while never compromising the welfare and safety of our children.
Practices
Summer Practice: Our summer practice schedule typically starts the first of August until our first game in late August. All teams practice every Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day (typical 5:30pm to 8:30pm). After our first game which usually coincides with the beginning of school, our practice schedule will change to our regular season schedule.
Regular Season Practice: Our regular season practice schedule begins the week after our first game. The practices will typically be Tuesday through Friday for 2 hours each day (typically 5:30pm to 7:30pm). We will never meet more that 5 times a week including games.
Games
Football Games are usually held on Saturdays or Sundays. The home games are played at either Clarkston High School or Clarkston Junior High School.
Freshman games typically start at Noon, followed by Junior Varsity games at about 2pm and Varsity games at about 4pm. There have been instances when the times, days and locations have changed.
Scholar Athlete Program
The Clarkston Chiefs recognize the importance of education. In 2003, $1,150.00 worth of Savings Bonds were presented to those athletes that excelled in the classroom and on the practice field. In 2003, 26 cheerleaders/pom pon and 20 football players were presented with $25 Savings Bonds.
The NYFL also recognized scholar athletes at halftime of the NYFL Super Bowl for students with B- or better grade point and good citizenship marks.
