Crush Win 13U Bridgeport Bracket Bash
Despite being a #8 seed, the Clarksburg Crush stormed through the tournament play to claim the 13U title of the 2013 Bridgeport Bracket Bash at the Bridgeport Recreation Center. In the opening game of tournament play, the Crush bested a talented #1 seed WV Patriots club 5-2. Clarksburg needed an extra inning "Texas Shootout" to defeat Connellsville 9-4. In the championship game, the Crush exploded for 7 runs in the 4th inning of a scoreless game and went on to win 11-1 in 6 innings to claim the tournament championship.
Crush Defeats Marietta Squad in Championship Game
The Clarksburg Crush defeated a talented Marietta team to claim the 2013
MOV Middle School Championship. After defeating #1 seed and previously
unbeaten WV Patriots in the semi-finals, Crush combined great
pitching, timely hitting, and solid baserunning to outlast the #2 seed
Marietta club 4-2. The #4 seed Crush posted a 9-4 record in the 17 team
league with the only regular losses coming to Bridgeport and Marietta,
which they avenged in the tournament.
