2010 President's Message

I would like to thank Frank Gaskill for all that he has done over the last 3 years as President of the Clarence Soccer Club.

My name is Michael Wander, I am the new President of the Club as of January 1st. For the past 3 years I have been Vice President of the Board and Tournament Director of the Clarence Classic Soccer Tournament.

We have made many improvements over the past year or so and hope to make more as the year goes on.

Travel soccer in Clarence is at an all time high again this year. We promise once again to train and develop the best players that we can. We are also implementing a new volunteer and deposit policy that is very similar to what we do in the House League. If you need more info on this new policy please go to our web site under Volunteering and you will find out more about our newest policy.

This will also be another great year to show off our club during our 15th annual Clarence Classic Soccer Tournament that all our Travel Teams participate in.

We also look forward to another record breaking House season once again this year.

Project Passback will be back again starting during the Clarence Classic (July 24th and 25th) in which all used or slightly used soccer equipment will be donated by our Club families and sent to a less fortunate club in the Buffalo area. The program will run from the Clarence Classic through the House season. Thanks ahead of time for all your donations.  It was a huge success last year; we collected almost 1000 pieces of equipment.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the Volunteers, Board Members, Tournament Committee Members, parents and players because without each and every one of you our great club would not exist.

2010 Volunteering

As of September 2009 the Clarence Soccer Board of Directors has decided that both the House and Travel Programs will now have the Volunteer Deposit Fee.  Travel Coaches were given an information sheet to hand out to their parents, and for House League the information will be on the application for the upcoming season.  Please check back to sign up for various events during the seasons.  Please keep in mind that each family is responsible to volunteer for each program their son/daughter is involved in within the club.  Any questions, email:  csollenbergh@yahoo.com

Clarence Soccer Club Dedicates Two Fields

ken k
The Clarence Soccer Club has dedicated two fields to individuals who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer service to the Club.Field 5 has been named for Ken Kreinheder.  Ken has been part of the club since its inception in the early 1970's.  He has been a coach, a Board member, a tournament volunteer, and he is currently our Club Historian.Field 1 has been named for Pat Melancon.  Pat has been our Travel League Registrar for over 20 years.  She continued in her volunteer role long after her children aged out of the Club.  Sadly for us, this will be Pat's last year with the Club as she enters a well deserved retirement!
