Clackamas Little League: Divisions
Clackamas Little League

Select Season:
Junior Baseball
Junior Baseball is for boys ages 13 and 14. This is the highest level of baseball in Clackamas Little League. This involves competitive play. The Junior Baseball team also participates in tournaments during the season.

Tee Ball
For players league ages five (5) through seven (7). This division is our instructional/developmental division, designed for safety and first-time players. Formatted in a three inning, all-roster hit and field game using a soft, limited flight safety ball hit from a batting tee, the Tee Ball division serves as a quick, fun introduction to the sport. Coaches are allowed to pitch to the batter if the players skill so warrants.

Rookie Baseball
The Rookie Division is for baseball players league age six (6) to eight (8). This division will focus on individual positions while also encouraging a team-oriented atmosphere. If your child is ready to step out of the Tee Ball Division, but needs a little more focused attention on general skills before moving on to Farm, then this is the division for your child. To play in the Rookie Division, we require that your child either have one year of Tee Ball experience or try out for the Farm Division. If, during Farm try-outs, the league and its coaches determine that Rookie Division would be a better fit, that is where your child will be placed. We plan to use pitching machines for the games and focus on each individual position during practices. The goal is to find the best fit for your child and help him or her see the importance of EACH POSITION.

Farm Baseball
Players league ages seven (7) to nine (9) can participate in the CLL Farm division. Farm games consist of six innings with players assuming the role as pitcher using a regular baseball. Note: coaches pitch for the first third of the season; the second third of the season will have players pitching and coaches pitching as needed; the final third of the season will be all player pitch.

Farm Softball
Players league ages seven (7) to nine (9) can participate in the CLL Farm Softball program. Six (6) year-olds are eligible for Farm if they have one (1) year of Tee Ball. Because of the age difference, we strongly suggest that only advanced six-year-olds consider participating in the Farm division. Farm games consist of six innings with players assuming the role as pitcher using a regular baseball. Note: coaches pitch for the first third of the season; the second third of the season will have players pitching and coaches pitching as needed; the final third of the season will be all player pitch.

Minor Baseball
Players league ages eight (8) to eleven (11) can participate in the CLL Minor division. We recommend that only advanced eight-year-olds participate in this division. Twelve-year-olds may play at this level only after obtaining a waiver. Games consist of six innings played under Little League rules, which states that league age twelve-year-olds CANNOT pitch in the Minor division. Note: This division is all player pitch.

This is Clackamas Little League's most competitive division and therefore we recommend that only advanced ten-year-olds participate in this division. Players league ages ten (10) to twelve (12) are eligible for a major division. This division is for those players with established skills and experience in playing organized baseball. Players should exhibit strong fundamentals of the game. This level involves advanced competitive play.

NOTE: New for 2009: All new and returning Majors players must attend at least one of the *MANDATORY* assessments (tryouts) to be held on February 22, 2009 and March 1, 2009. For details, see the Registration Information page.

Ten-, 11- and 12-year-olds wishing to be eligible for an All-Star team must also try out if this is the player's first year at the Majors level.
