Pee Wee Basketball: Welcome

Season: January 28 - March 16, 2013

Registration: October 8 - November 22, 2012.  After November 22 if space is available add $5.00 to each registration fee. 

Registration Location: Recreation Center 320 Lincoln Ave between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday.

The league is broken into 3 groups;

Kindergarten - 1st Grade 

2nd - 3rd Grade

4th - 5th Grade 

Fee:  $50.00 Resident      $57.00 Non-Resident

Youth basketball is considered as one of the most popular youth sports program today. It can be played year round outdoors or indoor, it doesn't matter as long as there is a court to play on. It develops teamwork, sportsmanship and motor skills.

The purpose of the Pee Wee Basketball program is to offer every child, regardless of their skill level or experience, the opportunity to participate in a healthful, wholesome activity both physically and mentally. Values of individual worth, sportsmanship, and team competition are stressed in an atmosphere of understanding and fair play. We are concerned that each child who enters the Pee Wee Basketball program has an enjoyable experience.

Our goals are:

1) Teach and promote the game of basketball;

2) Install a knowledge of and feeling for team or group relationships and responsibilities;

Through the examples of the coaches and parents, every player should see the value of competition within themselves toward self-improvement and with others in spirit of comradeship;

3) The development of skills and physical conditions to the maximum of each individual's capabilities.

4) Provide the opportunity for all children to participate regardless of ability. No child should be eliminated from participation because of skill level. Roster size will be controlled and new teams will be encouraged to form.

5) Equal participation for all players. All players who attend a game must play at least one-half of the game or equal playing time.

6) Maximize fun, participation, instruction, teamwork, and sportsmanship while minimizing winning at all coast and individual adulation.

This program is depended on volunteer coaches.  If you are interested please fill out the Coaching Application and return it along with your child's registration form.
