See the menu bar to the left for contact information. Thursday, November 5 CHS HIGH SCHOOL SKI TEAM 2009-2010 SEASON Another season of Chugiak Mustang high school skiing is upon us. The season officially begins Monday, Nov 2 at 2:30 in the CHS ski room. Make sure you have your current physical, activity fee, and participation paperwork completed. Practice begins at 2:30 and goes finishes between 4:30 and 5 everyday. When the race schedule is finalized we will post it. Email Head Coach Jon Kehler at jkehler@mtaonline.net or Ass't Coach Stan Carrick at carricks3@ak.net Tuesday, December 1 BOOSTER CLUB INFORMATION Welcome parents of the CHS ski team. For the last 5 years we have had a loosely formed parent run, ski team Booster Club. Parents organized the ski team booster club to help coordinate volunteering and raise money for team events. The goals of the club include providing food and drink for wax night feeds, snacks and hot drinks for the team at races, organizing volunteers at race events taking place at Chugiak High, and helping to build unity within the team by organizing team activities. Since it started the Booster Club has been providing a meal for the ski team while they wax and prepare their skis for upcoming high school races. The spaghetti meal promotes team solidarity throughout the long race season. The 2009-2010 ski season opener spaghetti feed is this Friday, December 4, at 4:30, in the Chugiak High ski room. We provide spaghetti, sauce, bread, salad, desserts and water and/or Gatorade. Parents are asked to support the feeds by volunteering to bring food or send food in with their skier. Early in the week preceding each race, I put out a list of what we need for the Friday (or occasionally, Thursday) feed. This list is published and updated on the team website: http://www.eteamz.com/chugiakskiteam/index.cfm? This week we need: As of December 1 AM: Spaghetti (uncooked) We use between 7 and 9 lbs. A week. 3 Crock pots of sauce (We have them!) bread (we have some , we still need some) Salad or fruit (have some still need some) Desserts (have some but always a good idea :-)) Gatorade or water (no soda please) (still need) Napkins, forks, plates, and cups (have plates need the rest) The food needs to be in the ski room by 4:15 on Friday afternoon so that the skiers can begin eating by 4:30. Parents have never failed to come through for these meals but life is much less stressful for me if you let me know what you are bringing :-). Saturday, February 21 Region IV 2009 Championship Team and Skimeister Results For the first time in CHS history the girls ski team has a Region IV championship banner to hang in our gym. In addition, Alyson McPhetres outskied every other girl in Region IV to take home the girls Skimeister Award. And last but not least, our team won the 2008-09 Green Grunt Spirit Award. Well done Mustang skiers, your coaches and parents are proud of each and every one of you!
