Carroll Players who Advanced in the College Ranks
Recent Carroll Grads In College:
ZACH BUTLER (2006)- Currently a Freshman competing for starting job at Wilmington
College.
BRIAN HILL (2005)- Reliever/3rd Baseman as a Freshman at Ohio Dominican. Now a
starting pitcher for Ohio Northern University.
BEN BUTLER (2004)- Starting catcher for 2 years at Wilmington College. One of
Quaker team leaders in Batting Avg., HR's and RBI's.
DAN BIEDENHARN (2003)- Starting 3rd Baseman for Wright State. Played in 2006
College World Series. Senior at WSU. Played in the
prestigious wood-bat Cape Cod League, summer 2006.
In January 2008, Dan received the National Rawlings Gold
Glove Award; this means he was chosen as THE BEST THIRD
BASEMAN IN DIVISION-I BASEBALL IN THE NATION. WSU Coach
Rob Cooper said that Dan was "the best infielder I've ever
seen" when he presented Dan with his Award.
JOSH TODD (2003)- First baseman and Designated Hitter at Thomas More College in
Kentucky
PAUL DAY (2003)- Two year starter at SS for Ohio Northern. Now starting at
Alderson-Broaddus College in West Virginia. At A-B Paul has
earned the following honors:
1st Team All-Conference 2007
ABCA 1st Team All-North Atlantic Region 2007
NCBWA 1st Team All-North Atlantic Region 2007
NCBWA Honorable Mention All-American 2007
Daktronics 2nd Team All-Region 2007
AMD, just recently, Collegiate Baseball Magazine listed
Paul as a Pre-Season All-American.
CHRIS COLEMAN (2002)- Scholarship player for four years as a Pitcher and Outfielder
at Wright State University. Played in 2006 College World
Series. 2007 Graduate
JACK LEOPARD (2001)- Four year player as a Catcher at Wright State University.
Played in 2006 College World Series. Considered one of
the best defensive catchers in recent WSU history. 2006 Grad.
SEAN HARSHMAN (2001)- Middle IF and First Baseman for Wilmington College. 2005
Graduate and recent Carroll summer coach
JASON BULLENS (1999)- Scholarship Pitcher at The Ohio State University. Career
shortened due to arm injury. 2003 graduate, recently married.
SCOTT MADER (1999)- Four year starter at Catcher for Otterbein. Was team leader
in HR's for two seasons. Named All-OAC
KYLE GESWEIN (1998)- 4 year scholarship player at Michigan State where he
played 1st Base and Pitched for the Trojans. Led the team
in RBI as a Freshman and set career HR record at MSU.
Went on to play professionally for the Florence Freedom.
Now an assistant coach at Wright State University.
ADAM FOWLER (1998)- Played 4 years at Earlham College in Indiana. Worked his way
up from a utility player to the Quaker's starting 3rd baseman
and member of the starting pitching rotation. Later played
in Europe as a member of the Dutch National team
