Greater Sacramento Youth Baseball: 10U (10 and Under)

10U Division Overview

The 10U Recreation and Competitive Divisions are for boys and girls aged 10 and under.

The 10U divisions are a continuation of the development of basic baseball fundamentals, while beginning to transition to more advanced baseball specifics and putting them to use. Specifically, these divisions will use the balk rule, leading off each base, and the dropped 3rd strike rule, will continue to bat the whole batting order, and rotate defensive positions. There is no bat size restriction and metal cleats are NOT allowed. These divisions play on a 60-foot baseline, 44-foot pitching distance, 6-inning games that are timed, where no new inning can begin after 2 hours. All non-protected players must try-out prior to team selection, although this is called a “try-out”, all players will be selected. This division will field two “All-Star” teams in the All-Star Tournament typically held in early July. Teams are encouraged to apply as a whole for the 10U Comp. Division, but teams may be formed using players from the 10U Rec. level in much the same way as an All-Star team.

*Games are played at Robert Frost Park in Sacramento. Additional game sites may be used when playing other leagues.
