Go Citrus Heights Little League!   Baseball has such great memories. One of my best players was a 12 year old pitcher I had back in the 1980's who would take a miniature 'GI Joe' action figure to the mound and place it next to his feet when he pitched (for good luck I suppose--we did win a title that year). But the weird part is that the other teams just laughed. Nobody ever complained about the toy.

Have a terrific season!
Best regards from Rick Fishman, author of Sandlot Summit, the funniest youth baseball story ever.

baseball instruction with former pro

Little League Supporter,

I am offering baseball instruction to ball players of all ages and skill levels. I retired from professional baseball in 2007 and have recently moved to the north Sacramento area with my wife and children. I have access to indoor batting cages with pitching machines and indoor pitching mounds in the Loomis area. During my baseball career I competed with and against, was managed and coached by and ultimately learned from well over a hundred major league players. From my personal experience, getting instruction during my youth helped me advance my ability and understanding of the game. At a young age I was able to develop and understand mechanics, fundamentals and techniques that I used throughout my whole career. This in turn provided great results which gave me a tremendous amount of confidence. This will be the first time in almost 25 years that I will not play a season of baseball, instead I will teach it.

I understand that every ball player has different skill levels. This is why I believe that individualized instruction with player specific drills adjusted to the players’ level is more beneficial. Baseball is fun and develops passion, especially with successful results.

Here is a summary of my qualifications:

-         Drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2002 and played 6 years professionally.
-         California Junior College All-American.
-         Scholarship player at Division I powerhouse Long Beach State.
-         Scholarship player at Division II powerhouse Sonoma State University.
-         Division II All-American, West Region Player of the Year.
-         Member of Double A Southern League Championship Team.
-         Played every position in Pro Career except SS
-         Graduate of Sonoma State University with degree in Criminal Justice Admin.

Lesson Details:
-         Every player receives a free 15 minute evaluation with no commitment
-         One-on-one instruction
-         Professional workout and environment
-         Video Analysis available

For instruction rates, availability or to set up your free evaluation please contact Mike at (415) 987-0711 or email at miker944@yahoo.com

Please feel free to forward this message to anyone who may be interested in professional baseball instruction.

Thank you and good luck in the 2008 season,

Mike Richardson
