T-Ball
Playing ages 5 and 6 (Madera Field)
The focus is team work, sportsmanship and learning to catch, throw, hit off of a tee, positions and where the bases are. All players on the team bat in order. The Player Agent makes the teams. Team standings and scores are not kept.
Coach Pitch
Playing age 6 to 9 (Madera Field)
The fundamentals of catching, throwing, hitting and positions are emphasized. For 6 and 7-year-olds that have played in Tee Ball. For 8 and 9-year-olds that have never played baseball. Supplemental rules may apply such as batting through the order. A team scorebook is kept. Division standings are not kept.
Farm
Playing age 8-12 (Madera Field)
The fundamentals of catching, throwing, hitting and positions are emphasized. For 10 and 11-year-olds that have never played baseball. A tournament may be held at the end of regular season. Division standings and a scorebook are kept. Little League Book rules apply.
Minors
Playing age 8 to 12 (Madera Field/McDonald Field)
All players should attend try-outs to be placed on a Minor team. Players not selected to a team will be drafted to a Farm team by a manager or coach. Twelve year olds may not pitch. A tournament may be held at the end of regular season. Division standings and a scorebook are kept. Little League Book rules apply. The division champion goes on to represent CHLL in District 5 Minor Tournament of Champions.
Majors
Playing age 10 to 12 (McDonald Field)
Only two 10-year-olds allowed per team. All players must attend try-outs to be placed on a Major team. Players are drafted by a manager or coach. Teams retain returning players (players become "property" of the team drafted to for the following season). Team standings and a scorebook are kept. The division champions and runner up go on to represent CHLL in the District 5 Major Tournament of Champions. Little League book rules apply.
Juniors
For boys and girls playing ages 13 and 14.
All players should attend try-outs to be placed on a Junior team. Players are drafted by a manager or coach. Games are played against teams throughout District 5, which will require travel for away games. Little League Book rules apply.
Seniors
For high school players ages 14 to 16.
Fourteen-year-olds are strongly encouraged to play in the Junior Division. If a 14-year-old decides to try-out for a Senior team and is not drafted, he/she has missed out on most of the season of playing on a Junior team. All players should attend try-outs to be placed on a team. A manager or coach drafts players based on playing ability. The regular season begins in mid-May after the High School baseball season ends to allow players to play both High School ball and Little League. Games are played against teams throughout District 5, which will require travel for away games. Little League Book rules apply.
Big League
For playing ages 16 to 18.
All players must attend try-outs to be placed on a team. Players are drafted by a manager or coach. The regular season begins in mid-May after the High School Baseball season has ended to allow players to play both High School Ball and Little League. Games are played against teams throughout District 5, which will require travel for away games. Most games are played at American River College. Little League book rules apply
