| Nice site. Good to see Chico American Legion is still booming. Most fun I ever had playing baseball was with Chico American Legion. Any team ever gone any further than my 1983 team?? That would have been the World Series in Fargo, ND. Fifth overall in the nation we were. What an experience. Got to meet Roger Maris up close and personal and play against the best that year had to offer. We traveled with one Mr. Bob Busch back in those days. Good to see an award named in his honor. He was a class guy. Our coach, Steve Abney is the new pitching coach at the University of Kansas and I believe our assistant Glenn Yonan is kicking tail as Lassen JC's head coach. Anyone know what happend to our other assistant... Kenny Clayton?? It's a shame the all time stats don't inlcude guys from my era. Guys like John Joslyn would for sure be on the home run, run and rbi list. Mark Boggs guaranteed to be on the hits and runs list and no doubt Brian Keyser would be a top five or better pitcher of all time. And I know there were some pretty good players prior to our year like Clements and Estrada (if he played). Anyhow, couldn't resist signing the guestbook. Good luck Nuts! Shane Huff |
