The Chicago Franchise Athletic Basketball Team, is seeking committed, energetic and hardworking coaches for our basketball organization who have both playing and coaching experience.

We are currently accepting applicants for the following positions for the 2011-2012 AAU season:


Coaching Opening
Head Basketball Coach
Main functions:

Becoming a Coach for The Chicago Franchise Basketball Team is an ideal position for recent college graduates who are looking to get into coaching basketball at the high school or youth levels. The Chicago Franchise AAU Basketball League Coach will serve as an Assistant Coach on an “Division I” AAU team and may also be asked to be the Head Coach of a “Division II” AAU team. All Head and Assistant Basketball Coach will report directly to the age-appropriate Program Director and also must attend various coaching training workshops which are offered through The Chicago Franchise League under the umbrella of the IRO (Independent Relationship Organization).

Duties:
- Assist an “Division I” AAU team at the 13U-17U level, this consisting of general coaching duties as an Assistant to the Head Coach.
-Meet regularly with the age-appropriate Program Director to discuss coaching development.
·         Attend all offered coaching training seminars which are offered through The Chicago Franchise AAU Basketball League.
-Assist at various Skills/Drills clinics which will be offered for middle school players.
-Help the teams Head Basketball Coach plan and implement team practice sessions.
-Help oversee and manage all team communications, this consisting of e-mail and telephone.

Volunteer Requirements:

-Must have one years of coaching experience or a proven background as a college or high school athlete.
·         Background check
·         Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Card Holder
·         First-Aid Certified (or working towards certification)
·         High School Diploma (college degree is preferred)
·         Punctual, meticulous and reliable.
·         Courteous manners with the public.
·         Commitment to your team.

Coaching Opening
Director of Basketball Training and Development

Main functions:
The Director of Basketball Training and Development will oversee the day to day operations of the skills training program for players, this in addition to creating coaching development training program for coaches. The Director of Coaching and Skills Enhancement will report directly to the Middle School/ High School Directors. Applicants for this position must have a strong willingness to work with players of different ages/skills levels. Applicants must have considerable on-court training experience to be considered for this position.


Duties:
·         Oversee and manage all skills sessions offered to players from grades 8-11 for the Fall, Spring and Summer sessions.
·         Provide weekly communication to families regarding what concepts/skills are being offered at skills/training sessions.
·         Communicate regularly with Associate Head Coaches and Volunteer Parent Coaches who are in their first year coaching competitive team basketball.
·         Oversee successful implementation of the PCA (POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE) program for all coaches and program volunteers.
·         Communicate regularly with Middle School/High School Directors regarding player and coaching development.

Employment Requirements:
·         Previous experience coaching and playing at the collegiate and/or high school level.
·         Background check
·         Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Card Holder
·         First-Aid Certified (or working towards certification)
·         High School Diploma (college degree is preferred)

Administrative Opening
AAU Recruitment Director (9th-11th Graders)

Main functions:
The High School AAU and Recruitment Director will oversee the day to day operations of the AAU programs offered to players during the spring, summer and fall sessions, additionally this person will assist sophomores and juniors looking to participate on a collegiate basketball team in the college admission process. The High School AAU and Recruitment Director reports directly to the Director of Basketball Operations and effectively markets and promotes our AAU programs to prospective basketball players and high school coaches in the Chicagoland Area. Applicants to be considered for this position must have 2-3 years of experience coaching basketball at the high school level.

Duties:
·         Serve as the Head Coach in AAU teams during both the Fall and Spring AAU sessions, these being “Division I” AAU teams at the freshmen, sophomore or junior levels.
·         Communicate all scheduling of games and practices of High School level AAU teams during the Fall and Spring AAU sessions to members of the high school coaching staff.
·         Coordinate a large scale College Night during the fall and Spring AAU seasons for sophomore and junior players interested in playing college basketball.
·         Assist in the hiring of new high school level coaches during the fall and Spring AAU sessions.
·         Serve as the primary contact for college coaches interested for potential players within the Chiacgo Franchise AAU Basketball program.

Employment Requirements:
·         Previous experience coaching and playing at the collegiate and/or high school level.
·         Background check
·         Must be certified through National Alliance Youth Sports (NAYS)
·         Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Card Holder
·         First-Aid Certified (or working towards certification)
·         High School Diploma (college degree is preferred)
·         Punctual, meticulous and reliable.
·         Courteous manners with the public.
·         Commitment to your team.
