Update as of January 10, 2008

The Jaguars scored their second league win of the year, defeating Oxon Hill 76-72. The Jags were down 15 points in the 4th quarter but stormed back behind strong play from seniors Jervon Wright, Victor Ibeh and Rashaad Brown. Wright set a school record with 22 rebounds while Ibeh and Brown scored 19 and 17 points respectively.



The Jags have back to back games beginning tonight @ home against Northwestern and tomorrow @ Hight Point.



In alumni news, Jordan Brooks (2007) was named MEAC rookie of the week on December 31st. He scored 12 points as Hampton University defeated William & Mary



Update as of December 26, 2007

The Jaguars will be playing in the North Point Holiday Challenge on December 27 & 28. They will play Robert E. Lee on the 27th @ 2:00pm and on December 28th they will play the host team, North Point @ 6:00pm.

There will be a winter sports meeting on Monday December 10 @ 6:30 in the cafeteria for the parents of all winter sports participants. Our athletic director, Carlyle Rose, will be directing the meeting.

The season kicks off on Friday December 14th when the Duval Tigers visit Jaguar Gym. JV plays @ 5:30 followed by the Varsity @ 7:15.



Update as of September 15, 2007

There will be an open gym for 9th and 10th grade boys on Tues. Sept. 18th from 4:30-5:45pm. All 9th and 10th grade boys planning on playing on the team should be in attendance. The 11th and 12th grade open gym will be held on Tues. Sept. 25th with the time TBA.

Jordan Brooks announced today that he will attend Hampton University where he will play for Coach Kevin Nickelberry. Congratulations to Jordan!

Senior Jordan Brooks was named 3rd team all-met and Daniel Thompson was named honorable mention by the Washington Post.



The Jaguars finished 14th in the final poll.

Senior center Daniel Thompson has committed to play basketball at Mt. St. Mary's. Also, Senior Jordan Brooks was named 1st team all-county. Thompson and Darren Clark were named to the second team. Click on "links" to view the article.



Update as of February 21, 2007

Last night the Jaguars defeated Northwestern 78-65 to wrap up their second consecutive 4A championship. Daniel Thompson scored 24 points and grabbed a school record 21 rebounds while Jordan Brooks just fell short of a triple double with 16 points, 13 assist and 9 steals.



The Jags will play Largo tomorrow at Henry J. Wise High School @8:00pm for the county championship.

Update as of January 31, 2007



The Jags continued their winning ways against E. Roosevelt by a score of 60-59. Daniel Thompson posted only the 2nd triple-double in school history with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks.



On Tuesday January 30, the Jaguars got a team effort in defeating High Point 83-48. Jordan Brooks led the way with 24 points while Chaune Duffy added 13.





Update as of January 24, 2007



The Jaguars pulled off a big win this past Tuesday over Suitland, 68-63. Jordan Brooks scored 25 to lead the Jags with Daniel Thompson scoring 22 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Darren Clark, coming off of a 32 point game in a victory over Wise, added 12 points and 7 assist. The victory lifted the team's record to 13-1. The Jaguars face a big test this Friday against 2006 state finalist Eleanor Roosevelt.







Update as of January 4, 2007



The Jags started off the new year with a 91-58 victory over Parkdale. Jordan Brooks led all scorers with 27 points while adding 5 assist and 6 steals. Darren Clark added 15 points with Danny Thompson scoring 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Chaune Duffy sparked the Jaguars off of the bench contributing 6 assist.



Update as of January 3, 2007



The Jaguars ended 2006 on a positive note winning the Chantilly Holiday Tournament. In the first game they played Riverbend High School, coming away with a 67-39 victory. Jordan Brooks led all scorers with 27 points with Daniel Thompson contributing 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. In the second game they held off N. Myrtle Beach 70-69 in overtime. Darren Clark had a big game with 22 points with Jordan Brooks adding 14. In the championship the Jags played the host team, Chantilly High School, overcoming a 14 point halftime deficit on the way to a 72-70 victory. Jordan Brooks came up big scoring a career high 35 points. Daniel Thompson added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks while Jervon Wright scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Brooks, Thompson and Clark were named to the all-tourney team with Brooks being named tournament MVP.







Update as of December 23, 2006



The Jags have started off the season in impressive fashion. On December 12th they traveled to Eleanor Roosevelt and defeated the then 7th ranked Raiders. Jordan Brooks led the Jaguars with 27 points while Daniel Thompson had 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. They also got strong performances from Darren Clark with 18 points and Chaune Duffy who played tough defense on Pitt bound Darnell Dodson.



The Jaguars next game was played at home against High Point with Flowers coming away with a 79-69 victory. Daniel Thomspon dropped in 21 points to go along with 7 blocks while Jordan Brooks added 19 points.



On December 19 the Jags visited Crossland High School defeating the Cavaliers 88-61. Daniel Thompson again led all scorers with 22 points with Jordan Brooks adding 20 points, 7 assist and 5 steals. Jervan Wright grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked 7 shots.



The 10th ranked Oxon Hill Clippers visited Flowers on December 21st and the 13th ranked Jaguars came away with a 87-64 victory. Darren Clark scored a career high 31 points with Jordan Brooks registering 19 points and 7 assist. Daniel Thompson had another strong game with 16 points and 14 rebounds.



The Jags will resume play on December 27th in the Pohanka of Chantilly Holiday Tournament at Chantilly High School. They play at 2:15pm against River Bend High School.

The Jaguars kick off their season on December 12 at Eleanor Roosevelt.



Update as of September 21, 2006



Open gym for 11th and 12th graders has been moved to Tuesday September 26th from 4:30-5:45.



Update as of September 8, 2006



There will be an open gym on Monday September 18th for 9th and 10th graders. The 11th and 12th grade open gym will be held on Wednesday September 27th. Both open gyms will be held from 7:15-8:15pm. Students interested in trying out on November 15th should be in attendance.





Update as of August 24, 2006

Conditioning and open gym will begin in September and tryouts will be held on November 15th. All students trying out must have a 2.00 GPA and physical and parent permission forms. These forms can be downloaded off of the county website (pgcps.org) by clicking the Athletics link. Continue to check the website for updates.

The summer schedule for the Jaguars can be viewed by clicking on the schedule link. We will again be playing in the Scholastic Scout Summer League at St. Alban's. We will also play in the High School Basketball Championships @ Catholic and will attend the Eastern Invitational Team Camp @ the College of New Jersey. All dates are listed on the schedule.



Update as of April 24,2006

Congratulations to the Jaguars on an excellent season. The Jags finished 21-4 while winning the 4A regular season championship and finishing the season ranked number 14 in the Washington Post. The 21 wins were the most in school history. Individually, Justin Robertson was selected First Team All-County by the Gazette and also selected to the all 4A team by the Washington Post. He also was selected to play in the Capital Classic. Robertson's 18.9ppg were the highest in school history. Jordan Brooks was selected second team all-county by the Gazette, one of only 3 juniors selected for either team.



Update as of February 27, 2006

The Jaguars will return to action on Tuesday February 28th in a quarterfinal regional playoff game versus Laurel. The game will be played at Flowers with a 7:00pm tip-off. Update as of February 15, 2006 Last night CH Flowers wrapped up their first 4A championship defeating Largo 64-66, avenging their only loss of the seasons. The Jaguars will play the 3A/2A champs on Wednesday February 22 @ Northwestern.



Update as of February 2, 2006

The Jaguars won a hard fought game on Tuesday over Crossland 72-58. Justin Robertson had a big night scoring 25 points while adding 4 rebounds. Rodney Williams had a career high 19 points while helping the Jags break away from the Cavaliers. Other key contributors included Charles Thompson with 12 rebounds and 5 blocks while Jordan Brooks recorded the first triple double in school history- 12 points, 10 assist and 10 steals. Their next game is @ home on February 3 against Northwestern.



Update as of January 29, 2006

In a rematch with Douglass, Flowers came out strong and ran away with a 84-46 victory. Jordan Brooks and Rodney Williams led all scorers with 15 points apiece. Justin Robertson and Charles Thompson both added 11 apiece followed by 10 from Justin Ikhide and 9 from Chadwick Church. The Jaguars led 49-19 at the half and never looked back. The next game is January 31 @ home against Crossland.



Update as of January 26,2006

The Jaguars had a strong showing against Oxon Hill with a 68-47 victory. Flowers opened up the game 18-4 and never really were threatened. Justin Robertson led all scorers with 18 points and Chadwick Church added 12. Jordan Brooks and Maurice Hawkins both had 9 followed by 8 points from Rodney Williams. The Jaguars next game is Friday January 27 @ home versus Douglass.

On Friday January 20, the Jaguars defeated Bladensburg 83-72. Justin Robertson led all scorers with 27 points while Jordan Brooks added 19 points, 6 assist and 3 rebounds. Their next game is on Tuesday January 24 @ home versus Oxon Hill.

Last night CH Flowers played one of it's best games of the season versus Bowie, winning 90-57. Jordan Brooks led all scorers with a career high 28 points while adding 4 steals and 4 assist. Justin Robertson and Jamal Fermin both scored 16 points,while Justin Ikhide and Chadwick Church both added 8. The Jaguars led by 10 at the half and took a commanding lead in the 3rd quarter. Their next game is Friday @ Bladensburg.

The Jaguars scored the biggest win in school history last night, defeating #3 ranked Eleanor Roosevelt 52-48. Roosevelt jumped out to a 9-0 lead before Flowers stormed back to lead at the half. Jordan Brooks led all scorers with 16 points and Chadwick Church added 10. Charles Thompson had a huge night with 9 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Brooks and Justin Robertson sealed the game with key free throws down the stretch. Flowers has a big game on Tuesday at home versus Bowie.

The Jaguars suffered their first defeat of the season, losing to Largo at the buzzer 74-72. The backcourt of Justin Robertson and Jordan Brooks scored 24 and 23 points respectively. Down by 9 points with 1:27 left, Brooks tied the game with a twisting layup with 6 seconds remaining. Charles Thompson had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Their next game is on Friday January 13 against Eleanor Roosevelt @ CH Flowers.

The Jaguars defeated a tough Laurel squad by a score of 53-40. Justin Robertson led the way with 16 points followed by 14 from Justin Ikhide. Charles Thompson had 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in the win. Their next game is Monday January 9 @ 2:00pm against Largo.



Update as of January 4, 2006

The Jaguars scored their first upset of the season, defeating 13th ranked Suitland 79-75. Justin Ikhide and Justin Robertson led all scorers with 18 points. Jordan Brooks also contributed with 17 points, 5 points and 5 steals. Rodney Williams (7 points) sealed the game by hitting the front end of a one and one with 4 seconds left. The team will play again on Friday, January 6th @ Laurel.



Update as of December 29, 2005 On December 28th

CH Flowers won the Middletown Holiday Tournament, defeating the host team by a score of 73-56. Justin Robertson led all scorers with 19 points on his way to being named tournament MVP. Charles Thompson had a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while also recording 7 blocked shots. Justin Ikhide and Rodney Williams added 10 and 9 points respectively while being named to the all-tournament team. The team got a big boost from Jordan Brooks who had 5 points, 7 assist,and 7 steals. The team will resume play on Tuesday January 3rd at home against Suitland.

The Jaguars advanced to the championship of the Middletown Holiday Tournament by defeating Brunswick High School 72-45. Jamal Fermin led a balanced attack with 14 points followed by Justin Robertson with 12 and Chadwick Church adding 10. They will play the winner of the Middletown-Landsdowne game @ 7:00 on December 28th. Update as of December 23, 2005 CH Flowers defeated Parkdale on December 22nd led by Justin Robertson with 18 points and Jordan Brooks with 13. Rodney Williams and Justin Ikhide added 7 points each. The Jaguars will travel to Frederick, MD to play Brunswick High School in the Middletown High Tournament on December 27th.



Update as of December 21,2005

The Jaguars came back from a 10 point halftime deficit to defeat the Crossland Cavaliers 76-68. Justin Robertson scored 26 points to lead the CH Flowers while Jordan Brooks added 15 points, 6 steals and 5 assist. The win was a total team effort. Charles Thompson was hampered by foul trouble but still managed a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The win took the Jaguars record to 5-0. Their next game has been moved from Friday December 23 to Thursday December 22 at home against Parkdale.

The Jaguars held off the Douglass Eagles on the road for a 69-59 victory. Jordan Brooks scored 22 points and Justin Ikhide added 18. Charles Thompson scored 11 points and had 12 boards and a big block down the stretch. Ikhide contributed 10 rebounds. The next game will be Tuesday @ Crossland.

The Jaguars recorded their third win of the season with a 65-51 win over Oxon Hill. Justin Robertson led all scorers with 18 points followed by Jordan Brooks with 17 points and 3 steals. Charles Thompson had a big night with 15 points and 10 boards. The Jaguars travel to Douglass on Friday December 16th. Update as of December 13th, 2005 The Jaguars recorded their second win of the season beating Bladensburg 91-46. Justin Robertson led all scorers with a career high 29 points. He also added 4 steals and 3 assist. Rodney Williams and Justin Ikhide both scored 13 points, with Ikhide adding 6 rebounds. The Jaguars next travel to Oxon Hill on Tuesday December 13, 2005...



Update as of December 7th, 2005

The Jaguars opened up their season with a 76-65 win over the Bowie Bulldogs. Jordan Brooks led all scorers with 19 points and 10 steals, while Charles Thompson added 14. At halftime the Jaguars led 44-27 and never looked back. Jamal Fermin, Justin Robertson and Chadwick Church both chipped in 8 points.
