41 Vern Hettisheimer "Hetty"

Position: Team Historian / Advisor Email: vern50@fuse.net Profile: Vern has been an integeral part of the Patriots developement the last three years and will continue to faithfully serve the Pats off-the-field endeavors in 2006. Vern is a 3rd generation Patriot, playing 2nd base for the Club in the late 60's and 70's. Vern's playing time "book-ended" two tours in Vietnam during the early seventies. Vern's Grandfather, Father and Uncle all played for Cheviot throughout the team's exsistence, and can be seen throughout many of the archives on the "Patriots History" pages. Because of Vern's dedication to the Club, the Patriots hosted the first "Veterans Game" reunion in 2004 - an annual event that will take place again on Memorial Day Weekend, 2006. Vern has also been instrumental in the Cheviot Memorial Baseball Field renovation project, a project that has benefitted the entire West-Side community. If there's any question about the team's history the last 94 years, chances are, Vern's got the answer!
