In 2004, on a team that showcased 7 shortstops, Brad not only stood out at that position, but flourished as an outfieldfielder and pitcher as well. Shutzy continually ranked among the best hitters in the area and shared the top spot in home runs as well. Schutz came to the Patriots after an extremely successful career at the University of Cincinnati. In 2002, the 1st team All-Conference infielder was considered by Baseball America as a "Golden Spikes" candidate after leading the Bearcats and Conference USA in many offensive AND defensive categories. Brad finished that year with 88 hits - the 3rd highest single season total in school history, and committed only 8 errors while playing EVERY inning! 2006 will see Schutzy play a limited role with the club since he no longer lives in Cincinnati.
