14u world series pin

Update: 2013/2014 14u -  If you are still looking for a team see what we need below. We are looking for a pitcher, and 1 additional player that is the right fit.

Did you miss tryouts due to a vacation?

Not getting enough playing time on your current team?

Have you always wanted to play fast-pitch travel softball for an established and well known organization? Then the Chester County Stars 14U team is looking for you! We have finished our tryouts and still have 2 open spots to join a great group of girls that are excited about the upcoming season.

Spots left -

  1. Pitcher - Do you want to get a lot of innings in this season? Then contact us. We have saved one spot for the right pitcher. We plan on playing in 2 fall tournaments and between 6-8 in the spring. There will also be multiple scrimmages throughout the season.
  2. Utility player / Catcher - We are looking for the right girl with a great attitude that can play multiple positions including catcher.

Please call Coach Greg @ 610-425-1925 or email gpfeifer1973@hotmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

Do you run a 14u travel team and want to scrimmage our Stars? If interested, please contact Coach Pfeifer at gpfeifer1973@hotmail.com or 610-425-1925

We will roster up to 13 girls for the 2013 travel ball season. Developmental player positions may also be offered on a case-by-case basis. We fill specific positions with specific talent. We believe every position is important and a vital link in the team chain! Every position on the field takes a unique skill set and level of experience. Once a position is filled, we coach the girls to become owners and experts of their respective position. We are looking for girls that have great skills, attitude, presence, potential, and that are all additive to creating the right core team chemistry.

Contact Coach Pfeifer at gpfeifer1973@hotmail.com or 610-425-1925 with any comments or questions. If you can't make the tryouts, then single tryouts may be available.

Coaches' Mission, Statement, & Philosophy

Welcome to the New 2013/2014 14u Chester County Stars travel softball team's page. This team's mission is to give every girl that becomes a part of it the opportunity to be more of an athlete and future collegiate player than when she joined it.

We believe that there are no levels or boundaries to greatness and potential, other than those set in one's mind. Any team of girls on any given day can be the greatest team on the field. It all comes down to mental strength, positive thinking, skills acquired through focused practice, hard work, passion, excellent communication, great coaching, and most of all teamwork!

The ultimate goal for this team is to grow as both individuals and a team unit through a solid foundation (or core) that will translate into a fun, rewarding, unforgettable travel experience, ultimately leading to qualification and playing in one of the annual National USSSA, ASA or PONY Tournaments. We strive to build a 14u girls fastpitch softball team with the best and brightest softball players around, created by passionate and dedicated instruction, playing against strong competition, leading to individual excellence and unparalleled team development.

Our coaches are serious about softball and expect our girls to be just as passionate, both on and off the Pennsylvania practice fields. We know that the kind of greatness that leads to collegiate attention and potential scholarships is not usually had through occasional recreational games with only a couple hours of practice a week. As investing members of this Stars 14u softball team we anticipate to participate in 8 – 12 tournaments, 5 – 10 scrimmages, clinic instruction (i.e. fielding, slapping, batting), on-team pitcher/catcher instruction (if needed), and indoor speed and agility training sessions.*

We've had players in our program from Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Berks, Bucks, and Lancaster Counties as well as the state of Delaware. If you are a 13 or 14 year old girl that loves fastpitch softball, lives in or near South, Central, or an Eastern Pennsylvania region, and are looking to join a leading fastpitch softball organization that focuses on a team dynamic while developing the individual to become a better softball player, then the Chester County Stars 14u may be is the organization for you.

“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” Michael Jordan

Practice – and drills – make perfect!

Coaches incorporate various skills that the girls need to work on into stations to help them master the many aspects of the game. Key objectives to this are to easily tailor practices to identified team needs through specific groups and to ensure that each player gets more repetitions and exposure to many drills instead of one. It all comes down to smart team coaching and effective time utilization.

Team synopsis: timing, indoor facilities & tournament play*

  1. Shortly after the teams are formed in August: practices and the teamwork evolution begin
  2. September – October: our team will be practicing, having scrimmages, and playing in fall tournaments (usually USSSA).  This is a crucial time to identify areas of individuals and the team that need focus and work.
  3. November – early March: winter indoor training/agility workouts. We use Parisi Speed School for agility and speed training and hold our indoor practices once or twice a week at West Chester University.
  4. March – July: move back outdoors for practice and begin the tournament season.
*Schedules and plans are tentative at this point (based on availability, player turnout and team needs).
