2013 Tournament news
The 2013 Titans opened the spring season playing in the Dalton Bash. With temps in the low 30's and snow blowing the Titans opened play with a solid 7-3 victory over the Bartow Bullets. Landon Ruzicka was outstanding in throwing 6 innings of 3 hit ball.
Game #2 was lost 4-3 to the Creekview Jr Grizzlies in a very lackluster performance from both teams.
With a #2 seed the Titans had a chance to play in the Championship game on Sunday but came out flat in an 6-2 loss to the Dalton Hurricanes to start the 2013 season 1-2
3/10 Triple Crown Slugfest
The Titans opened play at 8:00 am in the Triple Crown Slugfest playing the Ninth Inning Royals, With (3) starters out for the weekend due to sickness and injuries little was expected. The Titans played well losing 6-4 to the Royals and once again received outstanding pitching from Landon Ruzicka who went the full distance pitching 7 innings of 6 hit baseball.
Game #2 was played against Team Elite Grey and the Titans had 2 outs in the bottom of the first before walks, errors and hit batters allowed for 4 early runs by Team elite. The game stayed 4-0 until the 7th inning before an additional 4 runs were put on the board by Team Elite. Stephen Keller pitched 5 innings for 5 hit baseball to lead the Titans in the loss which dropped the Titans down to the Bronze bracket.
The Titans were rewarded with the #1 seed in the Bronze bracket but had to play at 9:00 PM on Saturday making for a 14 hour playing day. The Titans went to work and in 5 innings pounded Team DemariniGa Silver 16-4 with solid pitching delivered by Tyler McFather and Ty Fox.
Game #4 was Sunday morning vs Sawnee Mountain Jones and the Titans behind 6 strong innings of 4 hit baseball thrown by Garrett Jefferies won 3-1. Both teams pitchers were spot on and defensively (8) double plays were turned by both teams. Titan Shortstop Shawn Swift was outstanding in the field and at the plate along with Barret Bogus leading the Titans into the Championship gam
Game #5 vs the Powder Springs Yellow jackets looked bleak as the Jackets lead 1-0 through 4 innings before a bloop hit made it 2-0 going into the bottom of the 6th inning. Behind strong pitching from Ty Fox and Tyler McFather and timely hitting from Alex Apone, Barret Bogus, Jordan Waldman, Braxton Swanson, Ryan Fortgang and Brandon Keener the Titans erupted for 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to win the Triple Crown D2 Bronze championship game.

5/24-The Titans rolled into the DSN Georgia Wood bat State Championships rolling down hill as they had just lost a very tough (3) game weeknight series 4-4, 3-2 and 8-5 for the Lanier league regular season AAA championship.
Game #1 in Pool play on Friday night ended in a tough 4-3 loss to the Forsyth Outlaws. The Titans had runners on the corner in the 7th inning but could not put enough wood on the ball to get the needed runs. Tyler McFather pitched 3 innings of 1 hit baseball in relief.
Game #2 vs Team Demarini eneded in a 2-1 pitchers dual loss and continued the one run loss slide the Titans had been enduring as seven out of the ten team 2013 losses through this game had been by one run.
Game #3 facing elimiation the Titans jumped on the Southern Prospects and won 8-2 behind strong pitching from Brett Setchfield and slump busting hitting from Brandon Keener, Ty Fox,Jordan Waldman, Travis Thiess and Braxton Swanson.
Game #4 vs Sawnee Moutain was never in doubt as the Titans jumped to an early 8-1 lead behind 6 innings of strong pitching from Taylor Kellner and perfect small ball hitting & bunting from a host of Titan batters.
Game #5 Championship game vs DSB Diablos ended in a 7-1 Titan loss as playing (8) games in (7) days finally took a physicall toll on the Titans who looked flat and weary throughout the game.
The Titans entered the Lanier League end of year Tournament tired as they had just played 12 games in 6 days. Game #1 vs Creekview was not pretty as the Grizzlies won 12-2.
Game #2: The Titans re-grouped and pounded FCA 13-1 behind stong pitching from Landon Ruzicka and Ethan Landen.
Game #3 was slowed by rain but the Titans won 9-1 over Woodstock setting up a game vs the #1 seed Etowah Jr. Eagle.
Game #4: The Titans jumped onto the Eagles for an early 5-0 lead that lasted until the last inning before heavy rain delayed the tournmanet. Comming back from an 1 hour layoff effected the Titans as the Eagles scored 4 straight runs before Brett Setchfield closed the door for the win sending the Titans into the Championship game.
Game #5: The game went back and forth early for the first 3 innings before Creekview exploded for 10 runs in the 4 inning. The Titans came back to score 3 runs making the score 14-6 and had the bases loaded but could not push across befoe heavy rains hit the field forcing the cancelation of the game.
The Titans were accepted to play in the 16 team S.E Open classifiction Baseball World Series being played in Dalton, GA.
Game #1 vs the East Cobb Stars ended in a 3-3 tie after 7 innings. Using International tie breaker rules the Titans held the Stars in the 8th inning and came back to win the game in the bottom of the 8th on a bases loaded hit by Brandon Keener. Lights out pitchig by Landon Ruzikca and solid catching by Brandon Keener led the effort.
Game #2 was played vs the D3 Stingers out of Cleveland, TN. A true 7 inning pitching and defensive dual was played as the Titans lost 1-0. Solid pitching from Tyler McFather and Brett Setchfield along with strong up the middle defense by Shawn Swift and Ethan Landen was provided.
With a #7 seed in the Gold bracket and the only non Majors teams playing in the gold bracket the Titans opend Game #3 play at Heritage Christian High school playing the #2 seed Chattanooga Baseball Club.
The Titans jumped to an 5-0 lead after 3 innings but shoddy defense allowed CBC to close the game to 5-4 before the Titans scored three runs in the 6 inning putting away CBC 8-6.
With the win the Titans traveled to S.E Whitfield High school to face the #6 seed East Cobb Scorpions in game #4.A very confident ECB Scorpions team was shut down over 7 innings by Garrett Jefferies who threw a 7 inning (42 pitch) 4 hit complete game shutout 1-0. Amazing defense led by Ryan Fortgang, Ethann Landen, Ty Fox, Tyler McFather and catcher Braxton Swanson squashed the Scorpions repeatedly.
With a date in the Championship game set, the Titans had to wait four hours to find out who they would play which became the #1 seed Midway Dirty Dogs. A torrential thunderstorm struck at 9:00 pm before the Championship game could be played washing out the game. Champions and runner ups were determined and declared by highest seed which was awarded to the #1 seed Dirty Dogs.
