COACHES CORNER

Head Coach, Scott Lingerfelt, along with Assistant Coaches, Ed Romano and Kevin Cagle have been together for the past two seasons and are looking forward to a great year of 14U!

Coach Scott was an assistant coach on the 10U Cherokee Pride Red team that earned a berth and competed in the 2007 USA/ASA “A” National Championship, finishing 25th.  He has coached girls fastpitch recreational softball for over seven years and travel ball for the past three.  In addition to coaching for the Pride he was also the head coach for the Sequoyah High School Junior League in 2008.

Coach Ed brings so much experience to our team as he was the Head Coach of the 10U Cherokee Pride Red team that placed 25th in the 2007 USA/ASA "A" National Championship.  He has been coaching for over twenty years and has a superior knowledge of the game.  He has coached recreational teams suchas the Rockhounds out of Hobgood Park, as well as travel ball for the Cherokee Pride 96 10U and 12U "A".

Coach Kevin, is also a great support to our team.  He has coached recreational ball for several years and helped coach the Sequoyah Jr. League in 2008.

With the talents and knowledge these men have provided our girls they have received an awesome education in the fundamentals and the ability to execute during game situations.  Learning to win and lose in a positive manner that truly exemplifies good sportsmanship.

FALL 2009 - Practices and Team Sports Conditioning have begun.  Our team is practicing weekly and attends Rapid Sports Performance training for team Strength and Conditioning twice a week until the spring season begins.  We will be playing in a few tournaments during the fall but our main focus is on strengthening our physical fitness and increasing our speed and agility.

Fall 14U GSA Tournament - Austell, Georgia on October 24th  - The girls did extremely well in this tournament facing the bitter cold weather and achieving 3rd place in their first 14U tournament!

Fall 14U USFA Tournament - TBA
