CWS Saints Motto

I am a competitor for Christ.

I am made to strive, strain, stretch and to succeed.

I face my challenger with the Face of Christ.

"Victory is ours."

And let the Glory be God's.

-Fellowship of Christian Athletes

We do not force any of our members to recite the CWS Saints Motto.  However, it is clearly stated and known that God is the foundation on which our organization has been built. As a member of our organization, each individual will exemplify positive and upstanding character at all times and will treat others as they, themselves, would like to be treated.

At CWS, our first and main goal is to give every youth an opportunity to take part in an uplifting, family-oriented and quality program at a cost the family can afford. While extending this opportunity, our second goal is to consistently be positive role models for each and every youth with which we come in contact. CWS is a youth and family ministry. It is spiritually, culturally and economically diverse and gives strong emphasis to the successful and productive spiritual, physical, mental and social growth of our youth. Our third and final goal is to focus not only on building phenomenal cheer, dance and tumbling abilities for each athlete, but more so on securing his/her future success by building, encouraging and/or enhancing exceptional leadership qualities and a positive attitude within our athletes.

While many gym owners/coaches' MAIN goal is to lead their teams to those 1st Place trophies and World Championships, we strive to create an atmosphere of lifelong memories and friendships in the process of building champions.  Our All Star program is based on the belief that cheerleading is not ALL about proving to an audience or any other All Star organization that WE are the best. It's more about proving to ourselves that we've put forth a 100% effort to be the absolute best that we can be - inside AND out - whether cheering/stunting or interacting with others in everyday life. We don't just strive to prepare our athletes to be World Champions, but rather to Champion the World with dignity, self-confidence, determination and a positive attitude. When it's all said and done, it's the EXPERIENCE that matters most...Live the NEW CHEER EXPERIENCE!

"Man can give you the AWARD, but only God can give you the REWARD."  ~Denzel Washington

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.  Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, the saints will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.  2 Corinthians 9:12 -13, 15.

Cheerleading is fun, but it is hard work! We keep it fun and exciting, despite all of the sweat! Cheer excellence takes dedication AND commitment from both the parent and the athlete.  The athlete must also be able to accept corrective criticism with a positive attitude.

We expect excellence at CWS! With our member's dedication, commitment, and positive attitude, each member will be sure to reach his/her fullest potential!

Success in cheer and tumbling, as well as developing/enhancing exceptional individual character within our members is our #1 priority. Together we INSPIRE...Together we GROW...Together we ACHIEVE!

All members must be the required minimum age (see below) by August 31st of the year in which Squad Evaluations are held.  Members are expected to be able to listen attentively, follow directions, and be respectful at all times.

CWS Saints

Meet the Teams...

The CWS Saints continuously work hard to be Ohio's Best!  The girls are dedicated and committed to being the BEST at what they do.  We are so proud of them! A great big thank you goes out to the parents for entrusting us with their children! Let's Go Saints!

Competition Squad Practice

Squad cheer, tumbling & stunt practices are mandatory and are scheduled in an effort to learn and perfect competition routines, tumbling and stunting, and to allow the members the opportunity to get to know one another, both personally and skill-wise. Cheer practices last anywhere from 1 1/2  - 3 hours.  Tumbling & stunt practices last for one hour. The members receive water/rest breaks during practice times.  Squad cheer practices are longer during the Summer/Fall months, as we are diligently learning/preparing/making revisions to the competition routines for the season! Please review the Squad Cheer/Tumbling Weekly Practice Schedule below to be informed of your child's practice days and times.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is VERY IMPORTANT! Unexcused absences and excessive tardiness WILL NOT be tolerated.  Five (5) unexcused absences will result in the member's suspension and possible dismissal from the competition squad: NO EXCEPTIONS! Also, each time a member is tardy to practice, without a valid excuse, the member will receive disciplinary action.

EXCUSED absences include:

Personal illness that requires a doctor's visit, death in family, family vacation, school/church event (recital, chorus concert, play in which the athlete has an ACTIVE role).

EXCUSED tardies include:

Train, car trouble, traffic jam, inclement weather.

An Absence Request Form must be completed 2 weeks prior to the excused absence, turned in AND approved prior to any absence. All tardies must be reported to the specific squad coach on the day of the member's tardy. Please personally contact the coach on his/her cell or home phone AND call the gym to report the reason for the tardy.

ATTITUDE

During practice, each squad member is to be cheer-ready and attentive. There is a time to chat and have fun with friends, and there is a time to practice - cheer practice is the time to practice. Each member must be able to accept corrective criticism WITHOUT getting an attitude.  Coaches always respect the members of the squad, and the members are expected and required to respect the coaches and their fellow squad members. Disrespectful acts towards the coach or fellow squad members will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action and/or removal from the competition cheer squad.

ATTIRE

Each member is to arrive to practice READY to practice. This includes: hair pulled from face and non-restrictive clothing.

Squad Cheer Practice: Each member will receive CWS PRACTICE GEAR, which will include a t-shirt and shorts.  The t-shirt/practice outfit and cheer shoes are to be worn at each squad cheer and stunt practice.  (Note for cheer shoes - please BRING cheer shoes into the gym - DO NOT wear them).  This outfit is not required to be worn for squad tumbling practice.

Squad Tumbling Practice: Non-restrictive clothing (t-shirt, tank top**, shorts, skort, sweat/stretchy pants), and socks/footies.  Cheer shoes are to be worn during squad stunt practice AT ALL TIMES. Shoes are not required for the Tumble Track, but are required for power floor tumbling.

**Midriff Tank tops are permitted.  However, the tank top must cover three-fourths of the mid-section (covering the ribcage) with arms raised.

ATTENTION PARENTS: The following items are NOT PERMITTED to be worn during cheer/tumbling/stunt practice.  In the event these items are worn to practice, the member will be asked to change. If the member can not change into appropriate clothing, the individual will not be permitted to practice AND will receive an unexcused absence for that specific practice day. The items are as follows:

Jeans; any other restrictive type of pants/skirts/skorts, blouses, sweaters; sports bras/bathing suit tops or bathing suits.  Sports bras are permitted, but must be worn UNDER a t-shirt or tank top and one-piece bathing suits or leotards are permitted, but must be worn with shorts.
