CHEER TRYOUT INFORMATION
COST:
Tryout/Registration Fee: $35 returning athlete
$50 new ATHLETE
The one time annual registration fee covers insurance, tryouts, registration, administrative costs, etc. The registration fee must be paid at the time of tryout.
WHAT TO BRING:
· A completed and signed Washington Cheer Academy Registration form.
· A completed and signed Permission for Medical Treatment/Release form.
· A signed Athlete/Parent Agreement form.
· A copy of your birth certificate if new to WCA.
· Applicable Registration/Tryout fee.
· A bottle of water
· A positive attitude.
WHAT TO WEAR: Please come in comfortable shorts and T- shirt, preferably in WCA colors (white/navy/columbia blue). Please wear cheer shoes or athletic shoes. Females: please have hair completely up and out of face with all jewelry off.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Per USASF regulations, the divisions for All Star cheerleading are: 5 and under………tiny; 8 and under….Minis, 9-11…Youth, 12-14 … Juniors and 15 to 18 ….Seniors. Your age for the 2008/2009 competition season is based on your age as of 5/31/08.
On Thursday, 6/26, ages 12 to 18 will have tryouts from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Ages 3 to 8 will have tryouts from 6 to 7:30 pm. Ages 9 to 11 have tryouts from 7 to 8:30 pm. At the tryouts, each cheerleader will be given a number. WCA has a no cut policy. Tryouts are mainly for team placement.
By Wednesday, 7/2, tryout results will be posted on the WCA web site by tryout numbers. At tryouts, all athletes will be sized for uniforms and camp/practice wear.

Cheerstarz has been very successful over the past seven years, and we are always looking for ways to enhance the experience we offer to our members. With that in mind, we are excited and proud to announce that Cheerstarz is merging with Washington Cheer Academy one of the most respected names in competitive cheerleading in the state of Washington. This merger will enhance our commitment to developing an even stronger overall program with a more dedicated approach to our cheer class curriculum, customer service, staff training and safety. Washington Cheer Academy is a nationally ranked program based out of University Place, WA the largest cheerleading training center in Washington state!! The decision to combine with WCA was made with you, our customers, in mind, and is an awesome opportunity for the Marysville area. The merger will enhance our programs and, more importantly, our athletes instructional experience. We are confident that the upcoming operational and procedural changes will be of great benefit for everyone - from the staff to the athletes and parents. The positive coaching style and philosophy behind this program will be even more rewarding for your child and family. You'll be glad to know that:
- Lisa Milless and Barbara Alfond will be a part of the Leadership Team with WCA
- Danielle, Carlos, Viviana, Sonyja, Sarah, Teri and Jacqueline will remain on staff
- New uniforms, but with the opportunity to purchase gently used WCA uniforms
We are already hard at work to enhance our relationship with you during this transition! More exciting team bonding activities planned for this summer!Whether its all-stars, tumbling classes or private lessons, our goal is to create a positive and rewarding personal and team experience. We look forward to our continued relationship and ultimately delivering the best instruction possible to you, our loyal customers.
