Chattanooga Dragon Boat Club: Welcome
Welcome everyone!
Dragon boating is currently the fastest growing team sport in the world and Chattanooga is right in the thick of it.
We have a large festival every year and we are the site of the upcoming 2010 U.S. National Club Crew Championships....and we want you to join us! We are forming a new club and everyone is welcome. No experience required, just enthusiasm.
I've started this website to keep you informed of upcoming events, practices, meetings, etc. I'm new to this so bear with me...new information will be posted as I figure it out!
Please pass the word about this web site to anyone you think may be interested in dragon boating. If you're new to dragon boating, just do some web research (Google, YouTube, etc.) and you'll see for yourself what a great sport it is. Teamwork, comraderie, competition: We've got it all! So come on out and get paddling.
Some basic info:
We practice every Wednesday at 6:30 PM at Erwin Marina (Chickamauga Marina). Fees are $20/month and we're currently schedule to practice through the end of September.
Update: We will continue practicing the month of October, however, the time is changing to 6:00 PM!! We will still meet on Wednesdays. It will be $5/practice or $15 for the month.
Please check back often, as we go forward to becoming a true "dragon boat club", i.e. file 501(3)(c), bylaws, mission statement, officers, etc. I'm hoping to start having club meetings and establishing what it means to be a "member". This would entail what it would cost, expectations, what are the benefits, etc.
Thanks and paddles up!
