Chatsworth Chiefs (CC) Information Sheet - 2009
The Chatsworth Chiefs (CC) has been providing youth sports in the San Fernando Valley since 1970. The purpose of the Organization is to teach the values of character, sportsmanship, scholarship, citizenship, and good health through supervised competitive athletic games. It is our mission to provide a strong foundation for our young athletes to go forward in life with a winning attitude, to learn to be confident in their abilities and use them to help achieve their goals and dreams on the field and in life. And to know that regardless of the score, it is their effort that more appropriately defines the real meaning of winning.
The CC is affiliated with the Valley Youth Conference (VYC) and provides: Contact Football: ages 6-14, Cheerleading: ages 7-14, and Cheer Mascots: ages 3-6.

The physical results must be recorded on the official VYC form. Football conditioning begins Saturday, August 1st, 2009, at Chatsworth High School.
No player will be allowed to practice without a signed physical form.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED: A valid official copy of a birth certificate or a passport (NOT A PHOTOCOPY) must be provided for all first time players to enable us to certify the team. The name on the birth document must match, exactly, the participant's name on the contract. We cannot accept hospital birth certificates.
PRACTICES: Practice is 2 hours per day, 6 days a week for 6 weeks starting August 1st. Sept, Oct, and Nov practices are held three times a week, 2 hours each practice evening.
GAMES: A maximum of 6 controlled inter-squad pre-season football scrimmages may be held during August/ September, to be scheduled by your coach. One of the scrimmages may be a game condition scrimmage. The teams could play 11 games, 8 will be scheduled by the VYC starting in mid September, the other 3 will be playoffs if the team qualifies and will be scheduled after the regular season ends. Some teams may play in post-season bowl games (some divisions), such as the Las Vegas tournament. Games are on Saturday. Some playoff games on Sunday.
BEHAVIOR; It is essential that players, parents, coaches and guests exhibit, during practice and at games, a model of positive behavior that sets an example for our young athletes. Your coach will give you his procedure for voicing comments regarding the team or program. What will not be tolerated is: profanity, fighting or the use of alcohol in the stands or on any school campus. Any of these behaviors will be met with swift reaction from the Club, which will be a request that the violator(s) immediately leave the school grounds as well as possible further penalty which could include a barring from the school grounds for all future games and/or practices. Additionally, the game officials may call an ‘unfair act’ penalty on an unruly fan or group and assess a penalty he considers equitable, including and up to a score for the opposing team, and could call the game a ‘forfeit’ if the behavior is so egregious as to be disrupting and is having an affect on the game. (Rule 10-9, National Federation of State High Schools)
