Indians Advance With 30-8 Win Over Dublin
Dublin scored on their opening drive then the Charlton Co. defense held strong as the Tribe reeled off 30 unanswered points to advance to the 2nd round of the Georgia High School State Playoffs. After the Irish scored at 5:05 in the 1st quarter to make it 8-0 the Indians drove down and scored at the 3:14 mark on a Chris Milton 18 yard run. Milton tied the score on the 2-point run. Dublin fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Charlton scored again at the 2:35 mark when Milton hit Tim Hamlette from 41 yards out. Tre Hamilton added the PAT run and the Indians led 16-8. At 5:54 in the 2nd quarter Hamilton scored on a 3 yard run and Milton added the PAT run to make it 24-8. The final score of the night came at 2:54 in the 3rd quarter when Hamilton scored from 7 yards out. The PAT run failed to make the score 30-8. The Indian defense forced three turnovers with Carlton Doles recovering a fumble and Hamlette intercepting 2 Dublin passes. Doles, Wyatt Johnson, Mark Gantt, and Zeke Hilton each recorde QB sacks. The Indian offense rolled up 428 yards of offense led by Hamilton's 158 yards. Milton added 121 on the ground and passed for 134. Hamlette led the receiving corps with 4 catches for 60 yards. The Indians will host Brooks Co. next week at Indian Field.
