Indians Place 3rd in Pierce Co. Passing Tournament On Wednesday, July 15th, the Charlton Co. Indians travelled to Pierce Co. to compete in a 7 on 7 passing tournament. Overall there were 12 teams participating divided into pool play. In pool play the Indians defeated Ware Co., Swainsboro, and McIntosh Co. Then began the single elimination part of the tournament. After ebin a #1 seed in pool play the Tribe recived a first round bye. In the 2nd round Charlton defeated Bradford Co. of Starke, FL 27-13. In the semifinal round Cook High School of Adel defeated the Indians 39-24. "Our guys performed well but we still have a ways to go before the season. We need a lot more conditioning" said Coach McWhorter.
Wrong Guy Coach Builds Dynasty at Charlton County Monday, June 22 Indians Place 2nd in Georgia Southern Passing Tournament On Saturday, June 13th, the Charlton Co. Indians travelled to Statesboro, GA to take part in the Georgia Southern 7 on 7 passing tournament. Teams from Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina took part with the Indians placing 2nd overall. The Tribe defeated Hardaway(Columbus) 36-31, Hardeeville, SC 38-7, McEachern(Powder Springs) 20-14, Battery Creek, SC 34-29, and Florida High(Tallahassee) 28-24. In the championship game Charlton was defeated by Freedom High School of Tampa, FL 21-19. Those participating were Ronald Eldell, Maurice Mainor, Wyatt Johnson, Donovan Bolden, Tre Hamilton, Phillip Jackson, Tim Hamlette, Andy Crews, Carlton Doles, Chris Milton, Frederick Lambert, Suave Bolden, Kesean Peterson, and Johnny Davis. The Indians are scheduled to participate in a passing tournament at Pierce Co. on July 15th and pass vs. Camden Co. on July 22nd.
