Charleswood Broncos: History
* Prior to 1991 the football club, which would come to be known as the Charleswood Broncos, was just a bunch of teams being run by Pop Warner Football.
* In early 1991 Wayne Eastveld and George Snively registered the name Charleswood Broncos Football Club and the Broncos were formed.
* In 1991 there were 3 teams and approximately 82 players in 2003 there are 6 teams and 142 players.
* Prior to 1996 the Broncos played their home games out of St James Optimist Park. In 1997 the Broncos got permission to play their home games at the Eric Coy Field located on Oakdale Drive in Charleswood. The club now had a home field and a common place to practice.
* The Broncos had a 15-17 yr old team (Bantam/Midget) for the 1995 and 1996 seasons. Oak Park High school also had a 15 17 year old team and the majority of the eligible players played there. The Bantam/Midget program at the Broncos Club was cancelled. The Charleswood Broncos Football club has been and still is the Oak Park Raiders main source of players.
* During the early years at the Broncos, football equipment was rented from Pop Warner. In 1998, the Broncos were able to begin purchasing their own equipment, storing it at the Westdale Community Club during the off-season. The community club has been and still is a great supporter of the Charleswood Broncos.
* In 2000 the Broncos secured the front half of the building at 535 Oakdale to use as a clubhouse and the current day version of the Charleswood Broncos was born.
* In 2006, the Club was able to take over full use of the Clubhouse and became Incorporated.
* Through the tireless efforts of the many board volunteers who spend countless hours fundraising and planning from 2000 to today, the clubhouse has been continuously upgraded and improved in order to provide a suitable facility for the many players and parents who love football so much. Our history would not be complete without a special mention of those members who were fundamental in making this club what it is today. Wayne Eastveld, Larry & Kim Geisbrecht, Judy & Floyd Boss, Kevin Feely, George Snively, Barb Green, the Westdale CC and Barb Gerard.

By - Law Regarding Football Cleats
Football Cleats By-law 5.02
The by-law states:
5.02 - CLEATS - NO SOCCER, BASEBALL, OR SCREW IN (PLASTIC OR METAL) CLEATS WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY LEAGUE. MINIMUM OF 12 CLEATS.
"This is an old by-law that has been strictly enforced (regarding the screw ins) for years. Players are removed from the field and not allowed to play again until their footwear conforms to the league standards." I don't think any of our teams want to have players sitting out, so if you know of someone who might be affected by this by-law, please let them know.
