As we stated in the first general meeting of 2009, we will vote on January 19th for the following positions.
Director of operations, Athletic Director, Football commissioner, Cheer coordinator, Baseball commissioner, Basketball commissioner, Secretary, and Treasurer. Below please see the job description for all positions beside secretary and treasurer, these position will be posted shortly.
Cheer Coordinator:
Attends all Liberty and Chargers meetings along with meetings with league cheer coordinator , recruiting of cheer coaches, formation of all cheer squads, oversee daily cheer practices, attend Pop Warner clinics for certification along with the clinic for assistant coaches, attend some games to ensure there are no issues, make sure all Pop Warner spirit rosters are completed and turned in to league coordinator, set-up meetings with cheer coaching staff and parents, assist in fundraisers for the organization and the cheer teams, make sure the verification books are completed and all girls are verified, communicate with cheer directors on everything related to the cheer teams, coaches, and meetings, assist in ordering of uniforms and competition items, assist in getting information on cheer camps for the girls to attend, and any other related duties not specified.
AD Mandatory Responsibilities:
Attend all Liberty meetings and report back to Chargers board, Attend all sports ages group games (football, basketball, baseball) during the season, Have weekly meetings with head coaches of all sports teams (during season), Maintain equipment checklist for all teams. Head coaches are to be notified after the last game played of all equipment returned NO EXCEPTIONS!! Coaches will sign off on number and issue at the beginning of the season, Retain records of all registration (paid and not paid) for each team, Give weekly reports to the Director of Operation and Financial Director, Inform head coaches if equipment is not returned there will be no new equipment issued to their team for the next season. If 10% of equipment is lost the head coaches WILL BE REPLACED!!!!, Report equipment that needed for each team to Director of Operation, Notify all head coaches that fundraising is mandatory for his/her coaching staff. Anyone who does not participate will be replaced, All head coaches are to be notified that during each season all teams will be taught two basic offense and defense sets. It will be the same from 65 lbs to 160 lbs. The playbook may then be expanded. You are required to meet with all coaches (DC & OC) to decide on what they have agreed on. NO EXCEPTIONS!
REQUIREMENTS
Need to have a car to travel to meeting and games, Be a team player but able to make complicated decisions, Must have been a member for 2 years or more, Must be fair with coaching discipline.
Football- Baseball-Basketball Commissioner
The Commissioners shall perform such duties as directed by the Athletic Director and shall be responsible to the body for their respective area of concern, The Commissioners shall appoint upon approval of the Athletic Director, those committee of coaches, necessary for the operation of the sport s program for which they are responsible, The Commissioners shall serve as members of the Advisory Committee, Conduct meetings with the committee, Athletic Director and coaches of their sport to ensure accurate information regarding the season is communicated, Schedule and draft memo. Make sure all team fees are collected, Create practice schedules in accordance with location availability, Football only must work closely with cheerleading to ensure both sports are on the same page, Football only it’s important the cheerleading receives certain dates from football commissioner to make sure the cheer season is planned without conflicting with football events, Attend monthly, special emergency and membership meetings, Volunteer in the concession stand whenever help is needed whether scheduled or not, Assist with all sports registrations per registration dates, Assist during special events, Handle issues regarding members, coaches, team moms ,etc. with the utmost of professionalism, tact and above all confidentiality, And most importantly it is highly recommended that your spouse or significant other is in complete support of you running for a board position. There is a large amount of time spent away from your family, or your family spending a whole lot time at Rec center with you. It is a huge sacrifice of time to be on the board and it is very important that you put that into consideration prior to running for a board position.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATION
The Director of Operation is responsible for managing all hands-on operational aspects of the organization‘s programs and assist with the successful growth of the organization, He/she should provide the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the organization is moving in the right direction, He/she must provide day-to-day leadership and management that reflect the mission and core values of the organization, Must be able to develop, communicate, and implement strategies and processes, Must be able to provide timely, accurate, and complete reports, Reports to the Executive board and Oversee the Chargers Advisory board, Must be a Motivator .
