Chargers advance to Eastern Regional Championship

The Chargers 160 beat Cherry Hill Eagles out of Maryland by a score of 12-8 to advance to the Eastern Regional Championship.  Eagles got on the scoreboard first with a 5 yard run, extra point attempt blocked.  The Chargers answer late in the second quarter with a touchdown of their own to make the score 6-6.  The extra point attempt failed.  In the third quarter, the Chargers offense put up another score bringing the score to 12-6, another failed extra point.  The Chargers had a goal line stand late in the fourth quarter perserving their 12-6 edge.  After only gaining 1 yard at the 2 yard line, on 4th down the Chargers took a safety making the score 12-8.  On the insuing kick off Chargers kicked it deep and made the Eagles have to go 70 yards for a touchdown.  After 1 first down allowed, the Chargers defense stopped the Eagles by intercepting the ball putting an end to an exciting game.  Great game both teams.

Tuesday, November 17
Chargers Advance to Semi

The Chargers 160's advance to semi by beating Oldtown Gators by a score of 27-20. It was a hard fought game through out. The Chargers scored first and went up 7-0, Oldtown scored and then recovered the kick off in Charger's territory. A couple plays later the Gators scored and were up 12-7. Both teams went back and forth with neither being able to move the ball. Gators pinned the Chargers deep at the 1 yard line on a 50 yard punt. The Gators got a safety on the next play bring the score to 14-7. The safety woke the Chargers up. The Charger then scored 3 unanswered TD in the 4th to take a commanding 27-14 league. The 3 touchdown consisted of a 4 yard scamper, a pick 6 and a 40 yard run while trying to run clock. With 19 seconds left in the game, Gators caught a controversial hail mary pass in the end zone. This brought the score to 27-20.  They missed the extra point and on the insuing kick off the onside kick only went 5 yards basically ending the game. Good game by both team. Next up is the Cherry Hill Eagles of Maryland on Saturday at 7pm at Charger Super site.

At the end of the first quarter the score was Chargers 12 South Ward 0. In the middle of the second quarter Christian Palmer hit Dehaven Brown on a 40 bomb where Dehaven was tackled at the 1 yard line. The next play the Chargers fumbled the snap and Golden Eagles recovered. On second down and 10 from the 1 yard line Wendell Compton pops the center causing a bad snap the quarterback picks up the ball and scrambles right and tries a short pass to his running back, Taron Mills intercepted the ball and ran it in for a touchdown from 2 yards.
