(Last Updated: 23-Jan-2012): Winter training is underway on Sundays from 1:15pm to 3pm at Herndon HS!! The team is looking to add a few players from travel teams who are not going to be playing in the Spring 2012 season. We are for looking for a dedicated and experienced GK, as well as a 3-4 strong field players. All players must be dedicated, coachable, strong, fast, and have decent footskills.

Interested players should contact the team immediately via email with your contact information and a short summary paragraph of your soccer and athletic experience.

This spring, the team expects to play in two tournaments.

Recent Results: Fall 2011 (2nd place at Piedmont Shootout)
Fall 2011 (semi-finalist at PWSI Toys For Tots)
Spring 2011 (semi-finalist at Ralph Downey Classic)

The Cobras is a boys youth travel soccer team located in the highly competitive Northern VA area. The team plays in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) as a U15 boys travel team with an excellent team and family chemistry.

Our overall team philosophy is to foster a love for soccer while developing players to their fullest potential as soccer players and athletes. The intent is to not only instill a love for playing the game, but also develop an appreciation of watching and playing soccer with other skilled soccer players. Our overall team goal is to continue to improve as a team and to play soccer at a progressively more competitive level while developing the skills (both individual soccer skills and teamwork skills) of each player according to their needs and desires. Now that the players have become older, overall fitness becomes an important factor in playing travel soccer. Individually, we want every player to be prepared to play for their respective high school soccer team.

We believe that our overarching philosophy and goals can be achieved by creating a disciplined, non-threatening environment that encourages creativity and personal growth. Our aim will be to create a team atmosphere of family/camaraderie, not only between the players, but also between their families. We will encourage each player to attain the highest levels of sportsmanship and respect at all times, including all games, practices, and in all other, non-soccer, activities.

We will continually strive to incorporate the overall CYA Travel Soccer philosophy of focusing on good sportsmanship, player development, enjoyment and learning, while playing at a high competitive level and developing gifted soccer players.
