(Last Updated: 25-Feb-2012): Due to lack of players, the CYA Cobras have decided to disband effective immediately. We want to thank every player for their efforts and hard work over the past seasons. Best of luck with their HS teams and future travel teams!!!

All players interested in playing travel soccer in the Chantilly/Herndon area should contact the CYA United, CYA Strikers, or HERN Mavericks team officials for a possible tryout.

The Cobras is a boys youth travel soccer team located in the highly competitive Northern VA area. The team plays in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) as a U15 boys travel team with an excellent team and family chemistry.

Our overall team philosophy is to foster a love for soccer while developing players to their fullest potential as soccer players and athletes. The intent is to not only instill a love for playing the game, but also develop an appreciation of watching and playing soccer with other skilled soccer players. Our overall team goal is to continue to improve as a team and to play soccer at a progressively more competitive level while developing the skills (both individual soccer skills and teamwork skills) of each player according to their needs and desires. Now that the players have become older, overall fitness becomes an important factor in playing travel soccer. Individually, we want every player to be prepared to play for their respective high school soccer team.

We believe that our overarching philosophy and goals can be achieved by creating a disciplined, non-threatening environment that encourages creativity and personal growth. Our aim will be to create a team atmosphere of family/camaraderie, not only between the players, but also between their families. We will encourage each player to attain the highest levels of sportsmanship and respect at all times, including all games, practices, and in all other, non-soccer, activities.

We will continually strive to incorporate the overall CYA Travel Soccer philosophy of focusing on good sportsmanship, player development, enjoyment and learning, while playing at a high competitive level and developing gifted soccer players.
