Welcome to Chamblee High and Middle School baseball programs. We are excited to have your son playing, and everyone is looking forward to a great year of baseball. While the official Dekalb County baseball season starts next spring, our program runs year round, and kicks off soon with the Fall Ball season. We want to welcome our new families to the Bulldog Dugout Booster Club, and hope that this letter answers some questions you might have. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact any of the board members shown below.
This year we will have two teams at the Middle School level playing in the Dunwoody Senior League with John Donegan heading up that program. The teams and coaches will be finalized next week.
At the High School level, we will have three teams - one team made up of juniors and seniors coached by Dion Lowe. Mr. Lowe is the Bulldog Booster Club Coaching Coordinator, supervising off-season teams, and is the liaison between these teams and Coach Ely; this team will play in the Varsity level league at Dunwoody High School. We will have two teams of sophomores and freshmen playing at the Dunwoody Senior League. All of the teams’ rosters and coaches will be finalized next week.
During the regular spring season, the JV and Varsity teams compete in the very competitive Class 6-AAAA Division which is full of some of our big rivals, including Marist, Tucker, and Lakeside. Last year’s Varsity squad made it to the State playoffs, and the JV team finished third in the DeKalb County Region Tournament.
