| CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND BEGINS THURSDAY | |
| FREDERICTON, NB, March 9, 2010 - The 2010 Championship Weekend begins Thursday for the 11 teams in the New Brunswick Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League. Over the ensuing three days the final four teams will surface and they will play down to the crowning of a new champion Sunday following the 12:00pm championship game. The 2010 provincial champion will represent the province at the Irving Oil Bantam AAA Atlantics March 25-28 in Corner Brook, NL. All of the games this weekend will take place either at Willie O'Ree Place or at the Lady Beaverbrook Rink beginning with the first three games Thursday at 9:00am. The third-seeded District 5 Flyers and 10th-seeded Peninsule Acadienne will get things underway at the Willie O'Ree Place Rink 1, while second-seeded KV Rangers and 11th-seeded Miramichi Rivermen will do the same in the Rink 2 and top-seeded District 3 Caps, the host team, will open play at the Lady Beaverbrook against ninth-seeded Nord-Ouest Pioneers. Two hours later at 11:00am the fourth-ranked Saint John Sea Dogs will open against sixth-ranked Chaleur Lightning in Willie O'Ree 2 and the fifth-seeded West-Kent Aces faceoff against the eighth-seeded Restigouche Red Wings at the LBR. The seventh-seed Codiac Subways will see their first action at 2:00pm at Willie O'Ree 2 vs the Pioneers. Play continues throughout the rest of Thursday and Friday with the annual league awards banquet Friday at 7:00pm. Preliminary play wraps up Saturday morning with four games. The semifinals will be held that evening at 7:00pm at Willie O'Ree1and the LBR. The complete schedule is available under the SCHEDULE tab in this section.
