Last Chance for Recreation League Signups

2008 is upon us and that means that signups for the Spring 2008 recreation season are almost complete.  There is an in-person signup scheduled for Wednesday, January 9th from 6 PM to 8 PM at Forest Hill School.  In addition, the final in-person registration is scheduled for Saturday, January 12th from 10am to 1pm at Forest Hill School.   You can sign up online anytime of day or night at www.campbellsoftball.com (just follow the registration links).  It’s fast, and it’s easy and it’s the only way to pay by credit card.  If you do signup online, we ask that you come in to one of the in-person registrations to pick your uniform size and show a birth certificate if you are new to the league.  We have shirts of all sizes to help you select the correct size.  Get the word out and tell family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else you can think of to signup.  Don’t miss this chance to get involved in softball.  We are trying to boost registration by about 10% this year and we are especially looking for girls new to softball (and any girl new to the league can buddy with a friend).

CGFS Night at Fresh Choice

The walls are halfway up on the new snack shack but we still are in need of money to complete the project.  In addition to collecting donations during registration, our first fund raiser is right around the corner.  Fresh Choice at the Westgate Shopping Center is hosting a CGFS “eat out” night on January 16th from 4pm to 9pm.  CGFS get 15% of the bill from anyone who eats at Fresh Choice during that time as long as they present the attached flyer (the flyer is required for CGFS to get credited).  You can printout the flyer attached to this email or download and print the flyer from the CGFS website (www.campbellsoftball.com).  You can also pick up copies of the flyer at our registration sessions (so why not kill two birds with one stone by registering and picking up a flyer this Wednesday).  We are also looking at additional dates at other local restaurants and we are exploring other fund raising ideas.  If anyone has suggestions, they can contact Michele Story at michele.story@earthlink.net.

Please Stay Off the Grass

Several volunteers have reseeded barren areas of the outfields on Nelson and Shannon fields.  Last year’s dry summer and problems with the sprinklers left the grass very stressed and we’re doing our best to try to get it fixed up for the season.  We ask that everyone please stay off the grass to give the new seeds a fighting chance to grow in time for the start of the new season.
