The season is well underway the players are improving and the weather is turning warmer. This newsletter has important information on the league and the facilities, please read it carefully
Construction The construction on the bathrooms is progressing. The cinder block is complete, and we are moving to the roofing stage. Our long-term plan is to have up-to four buildings: a bathroom, snack shack, and storage buildings. We want to thank families who have contributed time and money to this cause in the past. As we are a non-profit organization, we will continue to ask for assistance and attempt to raise the necessary resources within our community. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Snack Shack Duty Fundraiser Due to the lack of shack, league families have not been required to volunteer time for snack-shack duty. For this year, we are asking families who normally would have bought-out their snack shack shift for $35 to donate that amount to CGFS for its construction projects. If every family did this, we would raise over $6000, more than enough to complete the snack shack when combined with existing funds. This is a strictly volunteer request, and there is no obligation. Of course, CGFS will take donations in any amount. Please write checks to CGFS, and give them to any Board member, or your teams coaching staff. Donations are tax deductible. Board of Directors Election We are looking for nominations for board members for the 2007/2008 season. Positions include: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Player Agent(s). The election will be May 19th during closing ceremonies. No prior experience is necessary. This is a great opportunity for people to help support their local community and work with a really great group of parents. Please send any questions, comments, and suggested names to Paul Morris at paul_morris83@yahoo.com (there is no implied obligation to be nominated). This process is very important, and the league may not exist without a proper Board of Directors.
Crush Travel Teams The Crush summer season will be starting in June. Try outs for the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14/16U division will be conducted Friday May 4 from 4:30pm until 8:00pm and on Sunday May 6 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm. See www.campbellsoftball.com for the exact time for your division or talk to a board member or your coaching staff for more information. We are asking all players who are interested in trying out to fill out an intent-to-tryout form. Safety The weather is getting warmer. Please remember all players have water, sunscreen and a hat.
