Connecticut Girls Basketball League (CGBL)
Welcome to the website of Connecticut's premier girl's winter travel basketball program. The Connecticut Girls Basketball League strives to provide Connecticut cities and towns who organize girls travel basketball teams, a structured league in which to participate and a reliable playing schedule. It is operated by non-compensated volunteers. Its objective is to facilitate member teams in their development of basketball skills, sportsmanship and self-esteem in each of their players while playing at a competitive level. CGBL serves 20 town programs with 5th, 6th , 7th, and 8th grade teams.
CGBL Mission and Philosophy Statement
The mission of the Connecticut Girls Basketball League is to provide girls who participate on their town’s travel basketball teams, a safe and positive developmental environment in which to play basketball at a fair and balanced competitive level. Paramount is the development of every girl both as a basketball player and good citizen. Meaningful and significant playing time for all team members is advocated.
The CGBL is proud to continue serving league members with a web site that provides all the information that a parent, family member, coach, town coordinator, or league commissioner would ever need. Need to know the league schedule?? Regular season schedules are posted for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade divisions complete with gym sites, directions, and game results. Each week you can check in on general news, league standings, and scheduling updates. It also serves as an excellent communication vehicle with the board and one another. Please check back regularly as we make every effort to make this web site the very best it can be.

Reporting Game Results or Rescheduling Games
TOWN COORDINATORS - Please email all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade game results and rescheduled game info to beachbum3350@aol.com It is very important to maintain accurate game information. Gym sites provide parents, players, coaches, friends and extended family with the ability to create driving directions to any gym site from any location. Games that must be rescheduled for any reason must be reported. Please note that game times will not be maintained within any of the schedules. Each week the upcoming game schedule will be posted in addition to prior week results. Please make every effort to report all of your home game results (6th, 7th, and 8th) within 6 days of the scheduled game date. Thanks.
PLEASE USE THIS TEMPLATE WHEN REPORTING *HOME* GAMES:
Game #: _________ (from schedule received at 10/21 TC Meeting)
Game date: _______
Home vs. Away
6th 2 - 0
7th 0 - 2
8th 2 - 0
Key notes:
1. Home TC's are responsible for reporting all game results within six (6) days.
2. Do not report actual games scores - report 2-0 scores to denote winner.
3. All three game results must be accounted for even if there was a need to reschedule one or more of the games. Rescheduled games must be denoted in order to properly update the appropriate league schedules.
