Cactus Foothills South Little League: Volunteer Info

CFLLS is made up 100% of volunteers. Everyone doing their part each season makes CFLLS the great league it is today! Here is a list of volunteer positons with a basic list of responsibilities expected for each. Please use this information as a guide for what you would like to volunteer for. No experience is necessary, ask any CFLLS Board Member for any questions you might have. We would like to thank you in advance for all you do for our league.

Team Managers and Assistant Coaches
Need 1 Manager and 2 to 3 Assistant Coaches per team

• To be a baseball teacher and a team leader
• To have fun, it is a game
• To stress safety on and off the field
• Must participate in the CFLLS Coaching Clinic
• Keep team parents informed of league information and team happenings
• Know and teach the little league rules
• Player motivation and baseball development (it's all about the kids)
• Participate in team draft (Team Managers only)
• Picking team name (Done at team draft)
• Scheduling/running team practices
• Collecting team snack money before season starts ($20 per player)
• Pick up/distribute team uniforms (before season starts)
• Pick up/distribute end of season player awards
• Running games
  • Create team lineup
  • Player warm ups before game
  • Home team - Open/Close Snack Bar
  • Visiting team - Drag & water field, drop chalk
  • Clean up field (equipment, trash, etc.)
  • Possible Umpire duties for other games

Umpires

• Work behind the plate calling balls & stikes
• Field Umpires
• To be fair at heart
• Stress player safety

Team Parent
Need one person for each team

• Help schedule players parents for Snack Bar duty for your home games
• Keeping score of games via score card - for Minors and up
• Help organize Season Ending party

Snack Bar Attendant
Need at least one parent per game from the home team to work the snack bar

• Must be 16 years old or older
• Open the Snack Bar with team manager 5 minutes before game start
• Follow posted Snack Bar guidelines
• Maintain snack bar during games - selling the variety of items it offers
• Money management - making change if needed
• Give out team snacks at the end of the game

Field Maintenance
Need 3 to 4 people throught the season

• Help with keep the fields looking the best they can
• Possible physical labor
  • Grass maintenance
  • Dirt maintenance
  • Pulling weeds

Sponsors

• Any and all help in getting financial team and league financial sponsors
• Any and all help in fundraising

Board Members

• Attend monthly board meetings
• Voice opinions on league issues
• Vote on league issues
• Take on a league responsibility
