Free Agency Notification

Dear Softball Player,

The CFBGSL bylaws allow free agency for all players in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16/18U divisions. Between December 1, 2008 and February 28, 2009, you may contact any team manager. Managers may also recruit players during the free agency time period. Spring contracts are valid from January 1, 2009 through July 31, 2009. Once a contract is signed it is binding for the player and manager.

Do not assume you will be assigned to the team you played on previously. You must contact the manager of that team if the manager has not already contacted you.

Please remember that spring 2009 contracts do not expire until July 31st.  Summer 16/18U division games begin in early June.  If a manager does not contact you or you have not found a place on a team by the end of January, please register with CFBGSL. You will be assigned to a team that needs players.  Spring 2009 registration information will be posted on the CFBGSL website in December 2008.

An updated list of returning managers is available on the website (NEWS section). Some teams may be moving up or have decided not to play in the Spring 2009 season. You may contact any manager if you are interested in playing on their team. If you have a question about a team not listed or can not access the league web page, contact the league VP for your age division.   If you or your parents have questions about free agency, contact the Vice President of your age division.
