TPR Baseball: Tournament Rules-TPR
Sunday, December 16We will implement the following rule exceptions to the Official BPA Rules:
1. Run Rule is 20 after 1 inning, 15 after 2 innings, 12 after 3 innings, 10 after 4 innings, and 8 after 5 innings.
2. No pitching limitations will be implemented. However, it is recommended that 10u players pitch no more then 6 innings in a weekend, 11-12u pitch no more then 8 innings in a weekend, 13-14u pitch no more then 10 innings in a weekend, and 15-18u pitch no more then 12 in an weekend. Pitch Count should be closely monitered more so then innings and these are the TPR Baseball recommendations:
| Age | per game | per week | per season | per year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9-10 | 50 | 75 | 1000 | 2000 |
| 11-12 | 75 | 100 | 1000 | 3000 |
| 13-14 | 75 | 125 | 1000 | 3000 |
Some tournaments may have Pitching Limitations, but that will be clearly communicated if their is a limit at some tournaments.
3. Courtesy Runner for the Pitcher or Catcher at anytime. Must be a sub. If a team does not have a sub, then no courtesy runner. Same runner, may only be used once per inning.
4. Teams may bat 9, 10 with an EH, or the whole line up. It is not an advantage to bat the whole line up, so it will be allowed. No DH will be used.
5. Teams may start a game with 8 players, but may not finish with less then 8. Teams may start with 9 and finish with 8 without a forfeit. Teams may submit 9 hitters if they only have 8 players, but the vacant spot is an out if the player is not their to bat by the time his turn comes up. If the player is their the second time through the line up, he may take his regular turn at bat. With 2 outs, teams can't walk the previous batter to get to the automatic out position. The automatic out is skipped if the previous batter walks with two outs and the following batter takes his turn at bat.
6. A copy of rules will be avialable during the tournament. On Site Directors rulings on issues are final. Written rules are distrubuted at tournaments and may vary slightly from this depending on the tournament and location.
7. Time limits are 1 hour 45 minutes or 6 innings for 12u and younger. Time limit for 13u and older is 1 hour and 50 minutes or 7 innings. 8u coach pitch is 1 hour 30 minute or 6 innings for summer coach pitch tournaments.
8. 9u Silver will play 46/60 ft NO Lead Offs for spring/summer season for all 9u events. If your team wants to play Lead Off rules at 9u, you can play 9u Gold or 10u Silver divisions.
9. Ejections of players and coaches will be one game with the possibility of a second on the umpire and tournament directors decision. Fans/parents ejected will be two games automatically.
10. No metal spikes for 12u and younger.
11. All other rules will be from the BPA Official Rules at: BPA Rule Book
