Continuing with Pittsburgh Central Catholic High Schools fine tradition of excellence for 80 years, the Central Catholic Viking Hockey Club would like to offer you an invitation to our 19h Annual Invitational Hockey Tournament. Our tournament will be held at the Bladerunners Ice Complex in Harmar, Pa. Our Invitational is highly regarded by our guests as one of the best High School Varsity tournaments in the region attracting some of the finest high school teams from several surrounding states and Canada. We are hopeful that you will be able to participate and be part of the tradition of showcasing some of the top powerhouse teams, and talented athletes in High School hockey.
The tournament field consists of 8 varsity high school teams divided into two divisions. Each team will play 3 games vs. the other teams in their divisions. The division winners will play in a 4th semi-final game, with the winners playing in a 5th Championship game. The remaining teams in a division depending on rank will play a cross over 4th game with a team from another division. All teams are guaranteed four games; one on Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. The championship game participants plays a fifth game scheduled for 3pm Sunday; allowing for travel time on Sunday evening.
In addition we are adding a 8 team junior varsity The eight junior varsity teams will be divided into two separate divisions. Each team will play 3 games vs the other teams in their divisions. The division winners will play a 4th championship game.
In 2003 the Central Catholic Invitational celebrated its 15th anniversary and débuted a special commemorative trophy honoring all the past and future winners of the Invitational. Each new winner will hold a place on the trophy to join the list of some of the best powerhouse hockey teams around. Please submit the enclosed application with a ***$800 check before Sept 30th 2007.to commit your team. Any applications received after that date will owe an additional $100.
