First game action of the Fall Season

Central Florida Hurricanes start the Fall season

The Central Florida Hurricanes 18u Gold team took to the field for the first time this Fall season at the NSA Michelle Smith Showcase Tournament in Clearwater.  The tournament was played at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.  A team stocked with rising seniors, this veteran ballclub began the journey towards this same venue next summer for the 18u Gold ASA Nationals.

With 17 on the weekend roster and 8 to 10 new players, it was a "get to know you" kind of weekend for the coaching staff.  The players played a bunch of different positions so combinations could be seen, lineups could be evaluated and college coaches could see all of the Hurricanes in action.

This weekend the Hurricanes will play a doubleheader against the Hillsborough Community College Hawks at the NW Little League softball fields in Tampa, Fla.  It's a chance for veteran head coach Ray Seymour of HCC to look at our players in the heat of competition.

The last weekend of the month has the Hurricanes traveling to Florida Atlantic University for the Lady Gators Invitational.  Gold teams playing include the Lady Gators - Flannery & Lady Gators - Jackson, Diamond Dusters, Gainesville Gold and the Sarasota Heat Gold team.  It should be a great opportunity for our girls to perform for legendary Coach Joan Joyce at FAU.  Playing at the FAU Stadium should also be a new thrill.
