The Bulldogs and Sabers have had their battles over the years and going into this game both were had one win against another 1A opponent this year and both won n the last play of the game on the road last week.
This in division game is huge in determining playoff positions. The Bulldogs gave up a deep TD on the first drive of the game but battled back to take the lead 8-6 after Ryan Newton made a great run and broke tackles on his way into the endzone. Jordan Sawers added to the lead with another great run after the catch putting the Bulldogs ahead 16-6 at the half. Jordan Sawers found the endzone again late in the third on a short run play; Bulldogs lead 24-6. The Sabers made some good defensive stops in the fourth Q and scored late to pull within 4 in the last minute. The short kick attempts were unsuccessful and the Bulldogs killed the clock to secure the win.
Bo Langer, Kris Ewen and Mike Oram lead the defense to a much improved performance this week. Bo had a great unselfish game and made the other players look good... way to go Bo. Kris played a phenominal game with a heavy heart, unbelievable performance. Dane, Dean and Robert also had good performances. Offensively the team managed to move the ball very well but stumbled in the score zone a few times. Great game by QB2 Kalen Oram who managed the game very well making good decisions and executing the offense.
This was the best TEAM performance of the year and moves the Bulldogs into a familiar spot on top of the 1A classification in conference #3.
