Buzz Hold Off Rebels
The Buzz beat the Killeen Rebels 5-2 in their 2nd pool game. Derrick Hadley started on the mound allowing 1 run on 6 hits, no walks, and 7 Ks in 5 innings. Sean Moran came on in relief allowing 1 run on 1 hit and 2 walks. Matthew Kent came on to close the game with bases loaded and no outs. Matthew Kent struck out 2 batters and picked off another. In the 1st inning, Max Farmer fielded a grounder at shortstop and threw to Hunter Melton at 1st base. Ty Culbreth caught a fly ball in centerfield. Zach Thomas fielded a grounder at 3rd base and threw to Hunter Melton at 1st base. In the 2nd inning, Derrick Hadley fielded a grounder to the mound and threw to Hunter Melton at 1st base. Derrick Hadley struck out 3 batters in the 4th inning. In the 5th inning, Derrick Hadley struck out 2 batters and Hunter Melton fielded a grounder at 1st base. In the 6th inning , Matthew Kent struck out 2 batters and picked off a runner at 1st base with Hunter Melton and Max Farmer applying the tag to preserve the win. The Buzz are the #4 seed going into bracket play!
