Center State Youth Hockey: Learn to Play

TRY ICE HOCKEY FOR FREE!

Girls and boys ages 4 and up are invited to come try ice hockey for free on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the SUNY Morrisville Iceplex.

All necessary equipment for the day will be provided for this event.

Schedule (roughly – kids are free to come and go but we think they’ll stay on the ice!):

2:30: Informational Meeting regarding Center State’s Learn to Play Program. This meeting will introduce parents to our hockey program including the necessary equipment, practice times, the organization of the program, and any other questions you may have about hockey.

3:00: Free Skate – kids can hit the ice and skate around as we get the necessary paperwork filled out for each child and get the kids suited up and laced up to have some fun.

3:15: Practice – we’re going to run a typical Learn to Play practice so the kids and parents can get an idea of how we run the program.

4:15: Free Skate, Wrap Up, Questions, and Learn to Play registration: Coach Ives will come off the ice to answer questions for the parents and to get the kids signed up for Session 1 of our Learn to Play Program!

4:30: Off the ice

Center State Youth Hockey Learn to Play Program

Session 1: October 13 thru December 15 Session 2: January 5 thru March 2

Forty-five minute ice times are usually Saturday mornings (9:00 or 10:00 typically) and Monday nights (6:15).

No prior skating or hockey experience is necessary. Teaching kids how to skate is what we do!

Our focus is providing a fun, safe, and exciting experience for all kids to learn how to skate and to begin learning the basic skills of ice hockey.

We will play some “hockey” the last ice time of Session 1 and the last few Saturday ice slots of Session 2. These games are NOT our focus. Our focus is F- U-N! We may add in a little skill development along the way.
