Centennial Huskies: Welcome

Statement From the Coach

Hello all,

My name is Martin Woods and I just completed my 6th season as the Head Coach of the Lady Huskies I would like to thank Mr. Roberts, our Principal, and our Athletic Director, Bill Gunn for support of the program.

We just finished our most successful season in the history of the program.  We had a final record of 23 and 6 which was our 4th straight 20 win season. We played in 3 tournaments during the season and placed first, first and second.  We reached the quarterfinals of the most difficult playoff bracket in the nation.  We also qualified for the state playoffs for the first time in school history.

We lost a total of 3 seniros from the team.  Ashley Merrill was our 6 ft 1 point guard who has received a full scholarship to the University of Arizona.  Samantha Logan, a 5 ft 9 guard who lead the team in rebounding is off to Cal State Fullerton also on a full basketball scholarship.  Finally, our last senior was Megan Mostammand.  Megan was offered a basketball scholarship from the University of La Verne, but decided to turn that down and instead take a full academic scholarship from UCLA.

The senior class will be difficult to replace, but we are fully confident in our returning players to step in and continue to make the program great.  We look forward to having another amazing season both on and off the court (all 3 of our levels had at least a team 3.2GPA). We can't wait to keep building on our success and continue to make each season better then the previous one!

Excitedly yours,

Coach Martin Woods

Congratulation Kelsey!

On behalf of all the players and coaches, I would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Kelsey Beard on signing her National Letter of Intent to attend UC Davis next fall. This goes to show that hard work, committment, and dedication pays off. I'm very proud of Kelsey and excited for her and her family for this awesome opportunity. Way to go Big Head!

Proudly yours, Coach Woods
