The Celtic 99 will play in the MVYSA U10 Premier Division this fall with games beginning around August 19. The boys will also attend two tournaments.

Gladiator Invitational Lots of Fun!
The Celtic 99 and some friends from around the league got together for the annual Gladiator Invitational Tournament at Sportsplex. The Gladiator Invitational is a purely fun 3v3 tournament held at the small indoor field at Sportsplex that is rented by Coach Leroy. The boys are divided into teams of three and play about 10-12 five minute games over a 3 hour period. At the end of the tournament, we all enjoy pizza and party in the upstairs lounge. A Golden Boot is awarded to the tournament MVP and this year's winner was Jonathan T. Congratulations to all the teams and to Jonathan!

Englewood 2008 Holiday Indoor Tournament Champions
The Celtic 99 and a few friends teamed up to take the 2008 Englewood Holiday Indoor Tournament. The team was undefeated with a record of 4-0-1. Congratulations!

Celtic 99 Undefeated at Fishers Halloween Classic
The BSA Celtic 99 Boys White team ran the table at this year's Fishers Halloween Classic Tournament in Fishers, IN, going 4-0-0 to end the Fall 2008 season on a high note. The Celtic outscored their opponents 22-3 and beat the always tough Hoosiers FC 2-1 in the closest game of the tournament. The Celtic also prevailed over some great Region II Clubs such as Javanon from Louisville, KY, and Dynamo FC and Fishers FC from Indiana. The tournament was a round-robin format with no declared champion. A fun time was had by all on the team's first out-of-state tournament where they represented Ohio South well. Congratulations to the coaches, parents, and players on a great fall. Enjoy some time off, winter training and leagues, and we will see everybody again in the spring!

Celtic 99 Undefeated MVYSA U10 Division 1 Champions!
The Celtic 99 Boys playing up in the MVYSA U10 Division 1 defeated the Metro FC U10 team 3-1 to remain undefeated and take sole possession of first place. This is the third season in a row that the Celtic 99 have been MVYSA Champions. They are undefeated in all MVYSA league play since they began as U8's in the Fall 2007. They won the Division this fall even though they were playing up an age group at U10. Congratulations to the coaches and all the boys on another successful campaign!

Celtic 99 Reach Semi-Finals at Mead Cup!
The Celtic 99 U9 Boys were undefeated in group play and advanced to the knockout stages before dropping the semi-final game to the eventual champions. In group play, the boys beat the Hoosiers FC 2-1 and the Team Ohio FC 6-3 on Saturday to secure a place in the knockout stages. On Sunday morning, they completed the group sweep with a convincing 6-2 vistory over Warren County White. The semi-final was a very tough test against last year's Mead Cup champion, St. Louis SC. The Celtic opened the scoring to take a 1-0 lead and battled through most of the game until St. Louis took control midway through the second half and won 5-2. St. Louis also took the final 4-1 to remain Mead Cup champions. Congratulations to the boys on a great weekend of tournament soccer!

MVYSA Campaign Begins
The Celtic 99 team saw a successful start to its fall MVYSA campaign playing up in the U10 First Division. Victories over SCA Avalanche 7-0 and Warrior 98 White 7-2 provided great opportunities to build confidence and prepare for the upcoming Mead Cup Tournament.

Celtic 99 Announce Fall Tournament Schedule
The Celtic 99 will compete in two tournaments this fall. The Mead Cup will be played Labor Day weekend in Dayton. OH, on Saturday, August 30, through Monday, September 1. This is an extremely competitive tournament and will test the boys against teams from all over the midwest. For the second tournament, the boys will travel to Fishers, IN (near Indianapolis), to compete in the Fishers Halloween Classic the weekend of October 25-26. The Fishers tournament will be a great time for the boys to have fun as they end their fall season. Good luck!
