CV high school Wednedsay October 14th- The CD Rams finally won a game from the undefeated CV Eagles last night but were unable to get over the top as the Eagles rallied for a 3-1 victory. With the W the Eagles laid claim to their first Mid Penn Championship banner since 2005 and the third for Coach Danelle Barrick.
The Eagles will face the Colonial division #3 AAA seed (appears to be Red Land) but the mid penn playoff foe for the Rams is not known as of yet. There is still a lot of volleyball to played including a big match between Carlisle and Chambersburg tonight. CD has a showdown with the Herd next Tuesday during senior night in the Ram's gym.
The Mid Penn Commonwealth #2 plays at home vs. Commonwealth #4. Colonial #1 plays Commonwealth #5 in another first round pairing while Colonial #2 plays Commonweatlh #3 to complete the eight team bracket. Currently Mechanicsburg and Gettysburg are tied at 10-1 atop the Colonial division and both have split their match ups in 5 games this year already.
Colonial seeds are looking like Mechanicsburg and Gettysburg to figure out 1 and 2 while Red Land all but has #3 locked up already. Commonwealth we know CV is #1 while Central Dauhpin, Carlisle, and Chambersburg will end up anywhere from 2 to 4 and that leaves Hershey and Cedar Cliff fighting for #5. Cedar Cliff already beat Hershey this year and has a leg up for the final spot to the mid penn playoffs.
There is still a lot of volleyball to played with three league matches to go.
Central Dauphin returns to action with two big out of conference matches this weekend starting on Friday at the Altoona Mountain Lions. CD jv takes the floor at 4:30.
