Congrats to the Varsity for a big win at the Cedar Cliff tourney. We beat Red Land 25-21 and 25-16 to start the day. Then we beat York Catholic 25-23, 25-15. We played a talented West Perry team and won 25-19, 25-15. Then we destroyed Middletown 25-16, 25-13. That put us into the playoffs and we won big vs. Hedgesville (West Virginia) 25-16, 25-13 with some excellent serving. We faced Mechanicsburg in the final and prevailed 25-22 and 25-22. It was a great day where everyone played and everyone contributed. Highlights included 66 Assists by Allie and 16 by Pam. Erin got 30 kills followed by Krysta with 18 and Ambria with 17. Digs included 50 by G. It was a great day of Volleyball!

The team did not play well vs. Carlisle, losing 14-25, 19-25, and 22-25. We had 9 team service errors and 15 unforced hitting errors. Krysta had 8 Kills and Erin 6 in the only highlights of the match. It was a tough loss and we'll have to retool.

The match started out with a great 1st set which we won 25-20. The 2nd set we lost 20-25 and then came back and won the 3rd set 25-22. Our 4th set we lost 10-25 and I was afraid the momentum had shifted in Chambersburg's direction. We had a terrific 5th set which was tied at 11, but we lost 12-15. It was heartbreaking, but overall a very solid match.

We then played Hershey and beat them 25-16, 25-9 and 25-12. Everyone contributed to the victory, but Krysta led with 7 Kills followed by Erin with 6 Kills. Finally, we played the other undefeated team, Wyomissing for the Championship. We won the 1st set easily 25-11 but the 2nd set, we started down 1-9 before slowly catching up and tying at 17. Erin led the team in kills with 7 and G was super at Libero. We did not take stats, but were able to put 2 players on the All tournament team. Congrats to Allie and G. for being named All Tournament! Going into our final pool play vs. Warwick, we needed at least one win to clinch a playoff spot and lost the first set 22-25 but kept a lead the entire second set to win 25-21. It was a super victory led by Arie with 3 kills and a .250 hitting %, 11 Assists by Allie and some incredible serve receive by Erin and G. Unfortunetely, we came up against the eventual tourney champions, Eastern York, on a hot streak and were defeated 14-25. It was a tough loss after an incredible team effort to get into the playoffs.

The 2010 season started with a challenging match vs. Mid Penn favorites, Cumberland Valley. We started out with some terrific serving and led the game by as many as 6 points early. Costly serving and hitting errors gave the lead to CV and cost us the first set 21-25. We got beat fairly easily in the 2nd set, 13-25... but fought back in the 3rd set after being down by 6 points to tie the set and eventually get set point. We were not able to close the deal and lost 24-26. On a positive note, it showed us that we can compete with a team that is favored to win the conference and that if we lower our errors and keep digging and attacking, we will put ourselves in a place where we can beat them in the future. Congrats especially to G. with an amazing 26 digs!!! Allie set a terrific match with 18 assists and Krysta and Erin contributed 7 and 6 kills respectively against a very solid block. Good start Rams! Our match against CD East was much different... we had solid contributions from the entire team with every hitter getting at least one kill! It was truly a team victory with special commendations going to G. for 22 digs and to Shaina with 4 Aces and Ambria with 5 kills in just 2 sets. It was super to get our first win on our home court.
